Meet my newest project! Starting on Wednesday, I'm launching a short term rewards scheme for S1-3 at Larbert High to encourage young people to travel more sustainably as helping the environment is one of the priorities I was elected on.

Today, I had the opportunity to meet @IainSinclairSNP to discuss the Learning Week proposal and the alternative education cuts. I’m grateful for his invitation to discuss this issue, and I found it valuable to have an open and constructive conversation on Falkirk’s situation.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking with @RealStephenKerr to discuss Falkirk Council’s proposal to cut school hours. It was a very interesting conversation and emphasised the importance of protecting Scotland’s education.

I have serious concerns about this proposal and what it could mean for students. Not only would it harm positive destinations, but also children's rights. With the UNCRC now incorporated into Scots Law, a decision undermining children's rights should be challenged.

Many thanks to @LabourFalkirk for inviting me to speak to the group about my position on the school hour cuts. If these cuts go ahead, pupils across Falkirk will suffer the consequences of lower attainment and reduced opportunities.

This is a deeply unpopular proposal and will put Falkirk’s pupils at a disadvantage. Education is an investment in Scotland’s future, not a target for cost-cutting exercises.

Unfortunately, no decision will be made today about the school hour cuts. Falkirk Council has delayed the decision until December. In the meantime, please complete this consultation and share your views on this proposal.
