One of my former bosses once called an emergency meeting because of me. My offence? I was having a casual conversation at work and mentioned that my husband has never cheated on me.

The manager went to report me.

Next thing, She called me for a meeting, not about work, but to convince me that all men cheat.

The irony?

The same woman’s husband was so popular with runs girls that before I even got to know her properly, I couldn’t tell who his real wife was. The girls used to gist openly about how good he was in bed (in my fashion school then)— and he didn’t even hide it.

Yet she wanted to convince me that my marriage reality was impossible.

That was when it clicked.

A lot of people normalise negativity just to make themselves feel better about their own situation. They project it on others so it becomes “normal behaviour” and helps them justify their misery.

If faithfulness is rare around you, don’t make it a universal law.
If loyalty failed in your home, don’t declare it dead in every home.

Some people are not trying to advise you.
They are trying to recruit you into their disappointment.
