Reports from Spain claim that José Mourinho has personally urged Real Madrid CF to explore a move for Riccardo Calafiori this summer.

The Arsenal defender joined the Gunners for around £42m and has impressed with his versatility, being able to play at left-back, centre-back and even step into midfield when required.

According to journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon, Mourinho is a big admirer of Calafiori and believes his ability to play multiple positions would make him an ideal fit for Real Madrid.

Calafiori remains an important part of Mikel Arteta’s plans, but interest from Real Madrid is always likely to attract attention.
