Andrei Tarkovsky: An artist never works under ideal conditions. If they existed, his work wouldn't exist, for the artist doesn't live in a vacuum. Some sort of pressure must exist. The artist exists because the world is not perfect. Art would be useless if the world were perfect, as man wouldn't look for harmony but would simply live in it. Art is born out of an ill-designed world.
90% SOLD OUT! Only 40 tix left tmrw, @TheWECC part of the @ADFILMFEST DIASPORA, one night only! See Wpg's N. End on film before it disappears completely! Young Eva comes to Wpg and tries to make sense of this empty and confusing city. Night market, fundraiser and panel too!
@WestEndCassidy Christian, you should come see Diaspora at the WECC March 19. It is essentially your post as a narrative film; a young immigrant trying to understand this crumbling Wpg around her. Panel to follow.
DIASPORA Screening, Panel and Fundraiser for Ukraine!!! March 19, https://t.co/MzAQBIAbnb support Ukrainian Craftmakers, support a fascinating film and finally get a chance to see this thing! I couldn't be prouder of this night!
@WestEndCassidy What do CBC and WFP always post their articles on the DAY OF? I feel like people would like to know about concerts, shows and events like this ahead of time so they can attend and not find out about it a few hours after it's over. Maddening.

"I am categorically against entertainment in cinema: it is as degrading for the author as it is for the audience."
--- Andrei Tarkovsky
"Filmmaking to me is an investigation of what is in someoneโs mind. I absolutely refuse to judge the characters in my films and it is imperative that the characters neither analyze themselves nor others during the course of the filming."
--- John Cassavetes
