The boots and dog tags I wore every day that we filmed MASH just sold at auction for $125,000 - all going to the Alda Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook U. I'm very grateful. The Center is thrilled. And so am I.

Happy #WorldOceansDay, everyone! Today is the day for us to celebrate and honor our oceans. 🌊🐋
Did you know that the ocean covers 71% of the Earth’s surface? It also holds about 96.5% of all Earth's water — that's a volume of 320 million cubic miles! Living in all of this ocean is an unknown number of eukaryotic species, but some studies estimate that a quarter of all eukaryotic life on Earth lives in the ocean. That would imply that there are ∼2.2 million eukaryotic marine species!
(All animals, plants, fungi, and many unicellular organisms are eukaryotes)
