Grifting for the Panopticon.

The Flock spy network is universally loathed across all demographics yet large right-leaning accounts are willing to die on their hills for it.

Why?

They certainly aren't doing it for popularity points. Perhaps engagement bait? Or maybe someone is bankrolling some of these accounts?

To answer that, you first need to understand what Flock actually is, and why it's not just another camera network.

We are on the precipice of a dystopia that Philip K. Dick couldn't imagine and Flock cameras are part of the groundwork for this.

The problem with Flock is that it entirely removes the 4th Amendment from play under the guise of being a "private business" when in reality it is a surveillance company exploiting the Constitution because nobody 230 years ago could fathom this business model.
Nobody minds CCTV footage because it requires legwork from the government to look into it. Flock is accessible to them NOW. Any LEO, local or federal, can access it and study you.

If you can identify where someone is at any time, you can then target them with other surveillance and surveillance capitalism systems. This system will work hand in glove with government and private business. I have Walmarts and Home Depots in my area that are tied into the Flock network already. These businesses are experimenting with things like individual pricing to extract more money from an already drained population.

Couple this with governmental entities being able to see what you're doing and buying without any warrants and now most of your life beyond your home is seen.

What happens once we start implementing AI systems into government services, private business transactions, and more? What happens when they all talk to each other?
That's when people will get denied licenses for their political views, purchases will not go through, or prices will be punitively raised. And that's just the start of it. What happens when you can't access your bank account because you spoke out against something or attended the wrong event?

We've seen the early phases of that in Canada with the truckers.

Flock is the bedrock which all future AI surveillance and oppression systems will be built on. It is the eyes of the nervous system.

These companies see infinite money on the horizon.

We already know Peter Thiel bankrolls content creators, it's not a stretch to imagine that Flock is doing the same thing here.

The surveillance state has everything to gain and nothing to lose by doing it.

There's always an opposing side to everything but this is unique to the right. There's a very vocal minority that defends Flock rabidly.

Not everyone espousing this is a shill, of course. But when large accounts espouse any view, there will be a group ready to defend that viewpoint, it's natural. It's human nature to follow your leader, even if it's a minor one on the internet. In this case, the leader just happens to be getting paid to say it.

It's not like there isn't precident for this. Israel historically paid thousands of dollars to large creators to post positively about them.

How do you make some ravenously defend you? Pay them handsomely.

If the administration were blue and the "dark enlightenment" types were supporting leftist views, I can't help but imagine these types would be rabidly against it with everyone else.

Perhaps some are contrarians who just enjoy the thrill of arguing online, and some may truly believe in the cause, but I suspect the largest accounts pushing this have some type of financial incentive.

What's a few hundred thousand to some creators when you stand to win the whole game?
