Four main themes from the #WHA73 discussion on #EndPolio efforts: 1. We must stop circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus outbreaks. I am in awe of the immense commitment from Member States to close the immunity gap that widened during #COVID19 & work to overcome challenges ahead.
Watch the #WHA73 live for updates on efforts to #EndPolio & how the polio programme continues to serve the #COVID19 response. We have many challenges ahead, but with Member State support, we can stop and prevent outbreaks and protect vulnerable communities.
#Polio & #measles outbreaks are growing as children in vulnerable communities miss out on vaccination due to #COVID19. Thank you @DrMikeRyan for outlining why we must act now to stop emerging outbreaks & strengthen collaboration.

Our message to governments and people is clear:
-Test, isolate & treat #COVID19 patients, trace & quarantine their contacts; inform, empower & listen to communities
-Keep physical distance, wear a mask, clean hands regularly & cough safely away from others
Do it all!
As long as #COVID19 is circulating, we are all at risk. That’s why we’re asking everyone to treat the decisions about where they go, what they do and who they meet with as life-and-death decisions – because they are.
