In a new article, I argue that content recycling is not simply a symptom of creative exhaustion, but a structural logic of platformized cultural production. IP extractivism is brought forward to explain how streamers convert narrative worlds into modular, data-governed assets.
What’s at stake is not simply industrial strategy but cultural power: whose stories become endlessly reactivated, whose labour and local infrastructures supply the inputs, and how is “choice” staged when platforms turn content into managed horizons of repetition.
