👇As a mum of 3 under 16s I take responsibility for my children.

They know their boundaries - in real life and online. The 15 year old uses social media to find jobs, learn more about her hobby / future career, contact her friends and do schoolwork. The 6 and 8 year old do not, because we have never outsourced parenting to a screen.

What “keeps me up at night” is that we have no idea how many people are in the country let alone who they are.

That my girls’ right to privacy has been sacrificed on the altar of trans rights.

That millions of people don’t have jobs.

That youth unemployment is rocketing.

That my local high street is dying and my local pub has shut down.

That the cost of my food shop goes up - seemingly every week.

That our defence is not fit for purpose.

Do they not know every 15 year old revises GCSE’s on YouTube?

Do they not know that teenagers track their friends are home safely on SnapChat?

Do they not realise that - especially in rural areas with no transport - teenagers social lives are on… social media.

Do they not know that teenagers will find ways round - as has been shown in Australia.

This ban is illogical and damaging.

If I hear another parent say “it’s so hard to police them” I’ll scream. It’s a parent’s job. Take responsibility the children you are meant to be bringing up.

It is not the government’s job to look after your children.

But the government will now insist all adults provide ID to prove we are over 18.

Im going to keep posting this, every service man and women who serve their country deserve respect and recognition, unfortunately many die by suicide leaving behind wives children parents to grieve because of the trauma they suffered in theatres of war, seeing comrades/friends blown to pieces suffering survivers guilt,complex/combat PTSD due to their service whether whilst still serving or veterans its off the scale.(you won't hear this from government's they are in denial) These truly are the forgotton and are never mentioned. Four just four are recgonised on the armed forces due to suicide three in an obscure area of the memorial in grey but one an officer an ex RGJ is on the main wall ?? on the memorial in Stafford and thats a fight in it self. Below is not one of those four( or others) is my son a RE warrant officer class 2 attached to C sqn household calvery detecting IEDs in afghan he saved many lives (as his citation showed see below )was awarded a mention in despatches for his efforts blown up 3 times (official medical records confirm) but on my application to the AFM board he was refused (not due to military service they said.(HE WAS STILL IN SERVICE) for christ sake. This is the true picture of how government laud our armed forces in public but never laud those above that also lost their lives. They are just as much casualties of war: MY SONS CITATION. LSgt Hunt with Cpl RE (name witheld due to privacy) commenced the Op Barmer and found a PPIED attached to a double stacked AT Mine at grid PR 751772. 15 Jan 08 the squadron attempted to put in a screen over watching a known enemy occupied village of Kariz Baba, grid PR 8383. As C/S 61 and 10 moved into position they both detonated an AT Mine and a PPIED respectively. LSgt Hunt assessed the situation and proceeded with Cpl RE to C/S 61 in order to clear route to a safe location. He then ensured that the area was safe for the remainder of the Troop to occupy the area in order to allow the Squadron to remain on task. LSgt Hunt then moved to C/S 10 and repeated task when he found a second PPIED attached to 3 x Mortar rounds. This was all achieved in clear view of the enemy, who on prior occasions, had engaged us with IDF and RPGs and were alluding to it on ICOM. Jan 08 3 Troop and LSgt Hunt were tasked with clearing a route for a company of ANA, the RESA and ;REST and a Troop from the KRH. During this clearance LSgt Hunt detected a PPIED attached to a large quantity of a home made fertiliser explosive at Grid PR 818874. Feb 08 LSgt Hunt detected on a Squadron road move to Camp Bastion an AP mine and a PPIED with a large quantity of homemade explosives incorporating plenty of lethal confetti. Grid PR 404633 {Throughout the tour LSgt Hunt worked hard and has always led the road searches by example. He understood the extreme dangers of being the lead element but demanded to be the key searcher as he had more experience and knew precisely what to look and listen for. LSgt Hunt has showed exemplary behaviour and a very good example to all. He demonstrated selfless commitment time and again, putting himself at areater risk. to Drovide the securitv for the squadron in the face of a verv lethal and hidden enemv. It has operated across the spectrum of conflict, having operated for long periods of time disrupting enemy forces on the periphery of Musa Qala and thereafter has been involved as one of the key enablers for the strike on Musa Qala and thereafter as part of the stabilisation force. As our most experienced attached Royal Engineer, particularly within the scope of Combat Engineering and Mine awareness, he has been the most reliable and steadfast individual within the Sqn, always on hand to give advice and the first to react when an incident occurs. He has always taken the lead on all mine and Improvised Explosive Device (JED) clearance for the Squadron, having taken the lead on a number of occasions to clear routes to stricken vehicles whilst in hostile areas in and out of contact. Whilst the Squadron was under sporadic small arms and indirect fire on the 17th January 2008, he cleared safe routes to two stricken vehicles to the east of Kariz deh Babah, enabling the crews to be safely extracted as well as finding further IEDs. No task has ever been too great, he has always risen to the challenge and his direct actions over the duration of the tour have undoubtedly saved many lives. The latter confirmed not Only by the Sqn's numerous IED finds, but also in terms of his pragmatic advice relating to routes to avoid, to clear and to move freely through. His incisive judgement has been a clear force multiplier within the Squadron. His leadership skills, selfless commitment and outstanding contribution are beyond reproach. He is a superb example of leadership, professionalism and a fantastic ambassador to his corps. To that end I believe that he is deserved of recognition.
