"There should be some consequence if you don’t have a shot when you say you are having a shot."
After Harry McKay milked the clock against the Bombers last night, do you agree with Hirdy's assessment? #FootyFurnace

Would love to see the details behind the growth in ratings. My assumption is weekly Thursday games, Saturday Kayo for all games & viewing on 7plus has created false growth based on immensely increased reach capacity & the shift of a game to Thursday prime time
The AFL will tell clubs today that TV ratings are up 4.9 per cent, every Thursday game has exceeded 1.1m viewers, attendances are off the charts. Yet the game has never been more criticised. Are those people just louder or are they angry but still showing up and watching in increased numbers? https://t.co/89AhTL5q6w
I didn’t want them to win but I got to tip my cap to the Knicks. What a run. Congrats to all of New York. You guys deserve it. I always sell championship gear when Boston teams win. It’s only fair I do it for NYC. Championship gear on sale now

Thanks for your critique, Janet. We actually tried a couple of episodes where House (Hugh Laurie) (please put the brackets in the right place) gets it right first time, but they were only 6 minutes long. NBC weren’t happy. Then we tried some where House never gets it right and the patient dies. The audience wasn’t happy.
One could apply your trenchant analysis to other art forms: JS Bach wrote 30 Goldberg variations on the same chord structure; Frida Kahlo painted 50 portraits of herself; Henry Moore, what??
The point is, or was, variations on a theme; if all you see is hospital, medical blah blah, then it wasn’t meant for you.
Nonetheless, I look forward to your first novel!
Not saying there isn’t a place or it won’t ever happen because well that’s journalism - but fuck me can we get some actual analytical and game based questions, rather than “is it embarrassing that the fox clock glitched in the last quarter”
If anyone wants to know why there is a growing hate for football media in a mainstream sense, listen to the questions posed to Dean Solomon in the press conference - clickbait, headline grabbing and completely unnecessary questions first and foremost before football discussion
@paoloseb05 Glaring obvious change is the intent behind the intent to control and ice the game aswell - not 1x mark, look around, kick down the line & hope - but mark, look inside/back, short kick, burn clock, repeat, and take the bail out as the last possible option - rather than the first
Josh Fraser is going to be a fantastic senior coach one day. His no bullshit attitude off field blends perfectly with a genuine game plan and ability to make adjustments on the fly to improve weaknesses and counter opposition strengths. Hope like hell we can keep him as an AC
Understand the history that gets lost (I was an inaugural Renegaded member) but let’s not kid ourselves that these clubs had any proper legacy. If anything the Big V navy blue & potential return to Bushrangers immediately created a stronger brand
The magnitude of this for Aus & Vic can’t be understated. Privatisation was a must and this is the best possible result. Stars/Renegades fans can band together creating huge interest, and IPL (team TBD) owned team will naturally see immediate support. Rivalry will be immense 👏
Today was the end of the @StarsBBL and the @RenegadesBBL as we know them.
Staff were informed the Stars & the Renegades are merging into one brand new Victorian franchise to play at the MCG & likely wear navy blue.
The club will be called the Melbourne (insert nickname), but it won't be the Stars.
Cricket Victoria has committed to selling its second license entirely.

Horror, horror performance from all of the support crew other than Cason. SGA proved why he’s a back to back MVP. Shame his boys couldn’t return the favour
