I also understand those that were sympathetic to her, but there comes a point where it doesn’t matter how much you liked her or her art, she did a scummy thing and deserves to take accountability for her actions. I hope she is able to reflect and grow from this.

I’ve said most of my piece about sunball already and frankly, I’m disappointed. This was a situation that could’ve been easily fixed and time and time again the wrong decisions were made. I hope sunball stays off the internet, for her own well being. She clearly cannot handle it.

The full story about the Sunball Situation

As you can see from AutisticBushes post, she has confessed to being the one who created the Sunball profile that went up several days ago. She knows what she has done is awful and inexcusable, and will be taking a break from social media. AutisticBushes, I hope you get the help you need, because this was not acceptable, and I have no idea how you thought this would end well.

I know a lot of people are angry about this, and rightfully so. Do NOT send her death threats or harassment. If people want to express their disappointment at the situation they are free to do so. All of the disappointment, anger, and shame are valid feelings to have. I personally am so sad that this happened. But despite that, she is a person who struggles with intense issues, so I hope that a break from social media will do her some good. I hope she is able to truly change from this experience, because it’s going to be rough.

Now, I want to be fully transparent with what has been happening behind the scenes as well. On Monday around 5PM I noticed that the Sunball account had DM’s open, so I reached out with a message saying I wanted to talk privately and maintain confidentiality, to which AutisticBushes (pretending to be Sunball) began to respond. I was delicate at first so that I could earn her trust, but slowly she opened up to me about her story.

What she said isn’t too important since it was all a lie anyway, but what is important is that she claimed to have memory loss after spending months in the hospital. This sounded suspicious to me, so I tried to ask for photographic evidence. Of course, she was being uncooperative since she wasn’t the real Sunball, claiming that she didn’t have a camera and such, but she was able to give me a description of what she looked like, and she knew enough about Sunball’s life to give me enough of a belief that she was who she said she was. I still had some doubts, but part of me wanted to believe so I convinced myself. This was a mistake and I will not let myself be easily deceived again.

I asked her why she came back and what she wanted to do, and she said that she wanted to come back but wasn’t sure. I talked to her at length about what actions she had taken; tracing an artist and then attempting to hide that. I let her know that had she deleted her account and moved on that would have hurt but been understandable, but faking her death was one of the worst things she could have done.

I told her if she wanted to come back that she would face hate, but that I would make a post that wouldn’t defend her per se, but would ask that people give her a second chance, and that she should accept that people would not forgive her and she should be ready for the consequences. It was after this we both made our posts.

These conversations took place over two days, and on Tuesday evening the posts were made.

Let’s cut to today. There are still some things I���m trying to verify and confirm but I want to be open with everything I know at this point.

I got a message around 4 in the morning from an account that had been created in December. This account also claimed to be Sunball, and stated that the one who reactivated the account was a fake

Of course, now I was extra cautious. This account did know more things, did not suffer from memory loss, and was able to specifically mention things that we had DMed about. This account also reached out to the Sunball account AutisticBushes created and requested that they take it down. That is when the account was deleted.

I reached out to AutisticBushes (who at the time was still pretending to be Sunball) and asked her what was up, and she began to panic and wanted to delete everything. After talking with her and making sure she understood what was wrong and wasn’t going to attempt to be the victim in the situation, I told her the moral thing to do would be to post a confession of what she did.

That does leave us with this 3rd person that claims to be Sunball. I can honestly say that I’m not 100% sure it is her, even though she knows a lot more about personal things than someone should. I did ask her to verify herself with a selfie holding a paper with todays date since I know her face from Instagram, but she refused do this or a video call with me to confirm it is her. Also, when she pretended to be her “sister” she actually messaged me before reactivating her main account back in the day, and she wasn’t able to tell me what she DMed me that time, which I still remember very clearly.

So that’s the situation that is happening. I have DM’s and screenshots taken to confirm my side of the story, and I’m willing to share them with people who are curious. I know that this is going to cause a lot of drama in the community, but honestly it needs to be all aired out and we need to be fully transparent for there to be any opportunity to heal.

I ask that no one engages in sending death threats or harassment to people who are involved in this. Write all you want on your own accounts, state how you feel, there’s nothing wrong with that as I know this has hurt many of you.

As for my opinion, if this third person really is Sunball then this has been a horrible way to go through everything. You haven’t realized the damage and hurt you caused with your stunt faking your death. You escaped the cowards way out, and now, rather than coming clean and admitting it publicly, you keep to the shadows and claim it ended well. If this really is you I’ve lost all of my respect for you, and I don’t believe the community should hold you in high regard. I’m grateful you’re alive, and I will cherish the art and kindness you brought the community, but I hope you never come back again.

Some of yall need to get a grip on the fact that while sunball obviously needs help, people are allowed to not want to forgive her. People are allowed to be hurt by the situation because SHE DID A BAD THING. Faking your suicide IS A BAD THING.

@_sunball_ You lied about something as serious as suicide, made so many people believe they lost a dear friend, a great member of the art community, it’s INSANITY and so incredibly disappointing. I’m glad you apologized, but I don’t see how anyone is forgiving you.

@_sunball_ Sunball, I loved your art and I loved how interactive you were with your fans and your community. But this was an incredibly insane turn to take instead of just apologizing in the first place. You hurt so many people in the process, when this all could’ve been solved with a sorry
