Sometimes we call something “waiting on God” when God is actually waiting on our obedience. There are doors that won’t open until you walk toward them.
David said in Psalm 68, “Praise the Lord our God. Each day He carries us in His arms.” You may have situations that are too much for you, but God is saying, “Don’t worry; I’m going to carry you.”
When you remember what God said, you won’t be worried, you’ll have peace in the midst of the storm. You’ll have faith to believe for the impossible. You’ll have the courage to defeat giants, the endurance to outlast opposition, the favor to accomplish more than you thought possible.
Some people become known by the hurts, the loss, the bad things that happened to them. It becomes their identity. It’s a victim mindset. If you’re going to get well, you have to get rid of that old identity. That’s what happened to you; it’s not who you are. You are still a child of the Most High God: valuable, a masterpiece, wearing a crown of favor.

It takes courage to get well. It’s going to cost you to reach your destiny. Playing it safe, living by the pool of low expectations, making excuses, that’s the easy thing to do. But God didn’t call you, equip you, empower you, anoint you, favor you, so you could take the easy way out.

You’re letting the old you stay simply because it’s familiar. You can change. God will help you break out of those strongholds, out of those negative patterns that are limiting your future. That may be the way it’s been, but this is a new day. Freedom is coming. Healing is coming. Victory is coming.

Don’t let what you’ve been through distort who God says you are. The enemy would love for you to live as a victim and always have that at the forefront of your mind, where you’re bitter, have a chip on your shoulder, and don't expect anything good. No, God is asking you today, “Do you want to get well?”

There’s a new you on the inside, ready to rise up, break free, and reach new levels. Now do your part and have the courage to leave what’s comfortable, the courage to get away from dysfunction, whatever is limiting your growth, the courage to have a new mindset. Don't live with insecurity, not enough, can’t do it. Get rid of the old so that the new you can show up.
We know it’s holding us back, but often we learn to live with it. Human nature leans toward what’s comfortable. It’s not change we resist, it’s what’s required of change. It’s easier to stay the same. If we accept it and let it become a part of us, we won’t have to stretch, and put forth more effort.
Getting well takes courage. Being free will cost you something. If it were easy, everyone would do it. It’s going to cost you your excuses. No more finding reasons to justify it. It will cost you some comfort. You have to be disciplined and be willing to do the hard thing so you can see change.

Healing requires obedience. Freedom requires action. Do you want to get well? The real question is, are you willing to do what God is asking you to do? Change the way you’re seeing yourself. Not a victim, not a failure, not an addict, but a free, blessed, healthy, victorious person. Getting well starts with you. You do your part, and God will do His part.
David said, “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” One version says, “I have everything I need.” That’s a powerful place to live from. Get out of that not enough mentality, can’t do it, too big. Do like David and have a “I have everything I need” mentality. “I am well able.”

Jesus said in John, “You didn’t choose Me, I chose you.” God loves to choose strangers: people who don’t seem to fit, people who weren’t raised in faith. You wouldn’t be reading this if you weren’t chosen. He handpicked you. Don’t go your whole life thinking you don’t measure up.
At times we all feel unqualified or intimidated. That’s not a lack of faith; that’s normal. But here’s the key: feelings don’t tell you the truth. Feelings are fickle. You have to override those feelings with what you know. The Lord is your Shepherd; you have everything you need for each season that you’re in.
You don’t have to live worried, thinking, “I can’t handle this. I’m in over my head.” No, it’s in you. There is grace for every season. There is strength for your assignment, provision for your calling. Keep moving forward with confidence, knowing that He will sustain you every step of the way.

The Psalmist said, “God has armed you with strength for every battle.” Yes, the enemy is big, but what’s in you is bigger. Yes, that challenge is great, but greater is He who’s in you. There’s greater courage in you, greater faith, greater vision. You wouldn’t be facing it if you weren’t well able.
The Scripture says, “Take every thought captive that goes against what God says.” If we’re going to have a sound mind, it’s not going to happen automatically. We’re going to have to start controlling our thoughts. The apostle Paul said, “Give no place to the enemy.” Are there some intruders in your mind that you’re allowing to stay? Are you giving place to negative, discouraging thoughts?
People don’t determine your destiny. They cannot stop the calling on your life. They may look bigger, more powerful, more influential. Don’t go by what you see; go by what God says. He says, "You’re more than a conqueror." He says, "The trap the enemies set for you, they will fall in themselves.”
