Meyler back to his feet and reportedly none the worse.
Max McNeill on the future of racing:
"A lot of sports are quite elite but racing covers everything and everybody, and it's always been like that. We're very quick to criticise it, but I went to Cheltenham on New Year's Day and there were 44,000 people there for my favourite meeting, and I looked up at the stand and people were actually watching the racing, the racing was what they'd come for.
"Racing, having a pint and a bet has been part of our social fabric for hundreds of years, so why do we want to change that? It's politicians who are making these decisions, many of whom are out of touch with what people want, so we have to change the narrative of what's right and what's wrong.
"We need to be talking positively, about racing as a sport with incredible athletes, not something that needs to be banned."
"It's a positive story."
A brilliant chat with @JamesOConnorTD (Cork East TD) who tells @Franmberry more about the positive impact the horse racing industry has in Ireland and much more 👇

Something a little different, I took to the historic streets of Dublin for a truly special experience. Joined by my wife and daughter, I spent time with David Mulreany of Mulreany Carriages, learning about the rich history of carriage driving in Dublin and the incredible horsemanship that keeps this tradition alive. From the stories of old Dublin to the skill, care, and respect for the horses, this was a memorable journey through heritage, family, and tradition. Something I highly recommend 🙌
Kilaro wins impressively on rules debut for Tim Easterby @MusselburghRace under Paddy Barlow. Winner on his third start in British points at Garthorpe last month for Louise Bevin.
"He was just dynamite wasn't he?"

The BHA payments to Julie Harrington are a complete disgrace. Easy to despair. Lord Allen has his work cut out.... or will he just sink into the mire of complacency and ineptitude.
Derby Sale graduate Koktail Brut made a winning start over hurdles @punchestownrace for @gelliott_racing and Gigginstown House Stud.
He was purchased from Drumlin by @KingsfieldStud for €40,000 at #DerbySale 2023, and won his 4yo maiden on debut.
