While the prominent voices in Pakistani media and the Govt make it a point to actively distinguish between the Indian People and the BJP/RSS the Indian journalists, editors and commentators repeatedly categorize the whole of Pakistan as a terrorist state.

The Indian intelligentsia under Modi does not single out the regime or those in power but claim terrorism to be part of our collective ethos. Hardly any Indian commentator can be seen as a rational and objective voice on regional affairs anymore.

Any future gathering of these Indian intellectuals at a peace summit or literary conference with Pakistani speakers will be nothing but a performance and facade by them to appear sane. Till they believed they were winning a decisive war they had no shame in taking joy in the deaths of children and labelling them as terrorist in training.

This going forward will be one of the biggest hurdles in achieving peace and stability in the region. The 1.4 Billion is being taught that the 240 million do not deserve empathy, trust and goodwill. The only emotions they are allowed to express are hate, contempt and hostility.
