WE ALSO NEED TO LOOK WITHIN

We are demanding action against unqualified practitioners and the growing “jholachaap” culture.
But we should also ask ourselves:

Who is training them?

In many private clinics and nursing homes, instead of employing MBBS doctors, untrained or inadequately qualified persons are hired to assist with clinical work.
They learn by working alongside qualified doctors—how to examine patients, prescribe medicines, give injections, interpret reports and manage common illnesses.

After gaining experience, some eventually leave and start practising independently.

And then we complain about the rise of unqualified practitioners.

Are we not contributing to the problem ourselves?

If a specialist or superspecialist needs a reliable clinical assistant, why not provide opportunities to MBBS doctors?
An MBBS doctor has undergone structured training in diagnosis, pharmacology, emergency medicine and clinical management. Under the supervision of a specialist, an MBBS doctor can become a highly effective and safe working hand.

This can create a better healthcare ecosystem:

MBBS → Specialist → Super-specialist

with properly trained nurses, pharmacists and allied healthcare professionals working within their defined roles.

We should not create a parallel system of informal medical practitioners by teaching unqualified people clinical medicine and then expecting them never to practise independently.

The solution is not to create more “jholachaaps” and then fight them later.

STOP NORMALISING UNQUALIFIED CLINICAL PRACTICE.

HIRE, TRAIN AND EMPOWER QUALIFIED MBBS DOCTORS.

Patient safety begins with responsibility—not convenience.
