Meet Our Volunteers 💚
Featuring: Sotiroula Gliki, Peritoneal Dialysis Consultant
📍Limassol, Cyprus
💬 "How has your participation as an EDTNA/ERCA volunteer shaped your aspirations for the future of renal nursing?”
🎤 Sotiroula: "Volunteering with EDTNA/ERCA has deeply influenced the way I see the future of nephrology nursing. It showed me that nursing is not only about delivering care — it is about creating connections, sharing knowledge, and inspiring change.
Through collaborating with professionals from different countries and experiences, I realized how powerful the nursing community can be when united by a common purpose: improving the lives of people living with kidney disease. These experiences strengthened my belief that the future of renal care depends on nurses who are educated, confident, compassionate, and actively involved in shaping healthcare decisions.
What inspires me most is the opportunity to contribute to a community that values learning, innovation, and human-centered care. EDTNA/ERCA reminds me that even small contributions can create meaningful impact.
For me, volunteering is more than participation — it is a commitment to helping build a future where nephrology nurses feel empowered, visible, and capable of leading positive changes in patient care."

EDTNA/ERCA, empowering nephrology professionals through education 🩺📚
Meet Our Volunteers 💚
Featuring: @novaismel , EC member of EDTNA/ERCA
📍Lisbon, Portugal
💬 “What inspires your continued commitment to EDTNA/ERCA?”
🎤 Maria Eulalia: "I don’t see nursing as a role that adapts — I see it as a force that leads change.
In nephrology, we are dealing with people who live with complexity every single day. That demands more than technical competence. It demands nurses who can think critically, act with purpose, and care in a truly human way.
My motivation comes from working closely with students and professionals and realising that the future of care depends on how we prepare, challenge, and empower nurses today. If we don’t invest in that, nothing really changes.
Through EDTNA/ERCA, I see the opportunity to bridge practice, education, and innovation — to create space for nurses to grow, to question, and to influence decisions that shape renal care.
What drives me is not just being part of this community — it’s contributing to a future where nurses are confident, visible, and actively shaping the direction of care".

Meet Our Volunteers 💚
Featuring: @VickyZoi , Treasurer of EDTNA/ERCA
📍Athens, Greece
💬 “What motivates you to contribute to the future of EDTNA/ERCA?”
🎤 Vicky: "What truly motivates me is the opportunity to contribute to something greater than myself—a community that shapes the standards and future of renal care across Europe. In my role as Treasurer, I see firsthand how strategic decisions translate into meaningful opportunities for education, research, and professional development.
With over 25 years of experience in nursing and renal care, and through my role as Country Nursing Director within an international healthcare organisation, I bring a perspective that bridges clinical excellence with strategic leadership. This allows me to contribute in a way that supports both frontline professionals and the broader vision of our field.
It is deeply rewarding to know that behind every initiative we support, there is a direct impact on healthcare professionals and ultimately on the lives of patients. This sense of purpose, combined with the collaboration of inspiring colleagues, drives me to serve with integrity, accountability, and a clear vision for growth.
Being part of EDTNA/ERCA is not just a role—it is a commitment to excellence and to continuously elevating our profession."
