His Excellency Minister of State for Energy Affairs, Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, who is also the CEO of #QatarEnergy, announced Monday that 13 people #died and 66 others were #injured after an operational incident occurred at the #Barzan_local_gas_supply facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City on Sunday evening.
The 13 fatalities were Indian and Pakistani nationals. The 66 other people, who were of different nationalities, received immediate #medical_treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, according to al-Kaabi.

Qatar’s finance minister warned of a bigger economic fallout from the Iran war over the coming months if the Strait of Hormuz isn’t reopened soon.
“Full fledge impact is coming in one or two months,” he said. “You’ll see huge economic impact as a result of this war.
It might take about five years to restore facilities and exports, Al Kuwari said, adding that exports of helium — used for chipmaking — is also a concern. He noted that Qatar accounts for about 30% of the world’s helium.
