பண்ணை (Farm) என்பது செயற்கையான கட்டுப்பாடும், லாப நோக்கமும் கொண்ட ஒரு வணிக உற்பத்தித் தளம். மாணவர்களின் தனித்துவத்தை மறுத்து, அவர்களை ஒரே அச்சில் வார்க்கும் ‘தொழிற்சாலை மனநிலை’ தான் இந்த வார்த்தையில் பிரதிபலிக்கிறது. மாணவர்கள் என்ன மதிப்பெண் உற்பத்தி செய்யும் பொருட்களா?

பள்ளிகளில் வெளிநபர் தலையீட்டைக் கட்டுப்படுத்த நினைத்த அமைச்சர், தத்துவார்த்த ரீதியாகக் கோட்டை விட்டுவிட்டார்!

பள்ளி என்பது சுதந்திரமான சிந்தனையும், அறிவுத்தேடலும் கொண்டு தன்னிச்சையாக மலரும் 'அறிவுச் சோலை', கட்டளையிட்டு வளர்க்கும் 'பண்ணை' அல்ல!

The Department of Information and Public Relations is a government department. While it’s part of their job to post speeches of Hon. CM & Ministers on social media, the captions being added by the DIPR are political attacks on the opposition & MLAs.

These kind of political statements by a government department is unprecedented and does not bode well for parliamentary democracy.

There’s is a difference between party and government. Hope the bureaucrats don’t blur this line in a new found frenzy to please the new CM.

As far as I have observed Assembly proceedings over the years, the Chief Minister's reply to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor's Address is expected to engage with the debate held in the House. It should involve referring to members from different parties, acknowledging the issues they raised and responding to them specifically.

Today, however, I did not notice Vijay mentioning even a single member, whether from alliance parties or the opposition. More importantly, there were no clear responses to the questions, concerns and explanations sought by members in relation to the Governor's Address. A Chief Minister's reply should be a response to the discussion that took place over the previous days, not just a standalone address.

கடந்த 5 ஆண்டுகளாக, எனது ஆட்சிக்காலத்தில் “படிங்க, படிங்க, படிங்க” என்று தொடர்ந்து சொல்லி வந்தேன். அப்படி படித்து முன்னேற விரும்பும் இளைஞர்களுக்கு உதவத்தான் #நான்_முதல்வன் எனும் என் கனவுத் திட்டத்தைத் தொடங்கினேன். அதனை முடக்குவது தமிழ்நாட்டு இளைஞர்களின் வளர்ச்சியை முடக்கும் செயலாக அமைந்துவிடும்!

A grassroots leader isn't a super-bureaucrat. Career bureaucrats and IAS officers are literally trained to handle the technicalities of administrative policy. A Minister’s primary job is to provide political will and stay deeply connected to the ground.

An individual from a marginalised community, a personal assistant or a departmental secretary is just another wall of red tape. They travel all the way to Chennai because they know this specific minister understands their struggle. Shuttling them off to staff completely defeats the purpose of a Social Justice Dept.

Furthermore, listening to public grievances is the raw data required for good policy-making. You cannot fix a broken system from an isolated, air-conditioned cabin.

Let the leaders remain accessible to the people who put them there! ✊🏽
