This brought back memories of my own childhood days at my Matamaal in Rajpora where I .. along with my two sisters would spend our winter vacations with our cousins! Wallah! It was beautiful chaos—no curtains on the windows, doormats never in place, broken windowpanes from cricket balls flying around!

My cousin brother (mamtur boai), who’s now a doctor. .. would give death sentences to hens for not obeying his orders —some were hanged .. others had their heads chopped off! 😅 .. My grandmother would shout at my mother and mami seeing the havoc we would create daily!

My grandfather’s Ambassador car had steering and gearbox issues almost every day—thanks to us sitting in it all day, making engine sounds with our mouths, pretending to drive! We had torn the seat covers too! He would shout at us at first, but then cool down and take me along to Anantnag—back when the whole of South Kashmir was just one district: Anantnag!

Once, during a public gathering, my cousin and I stuffed snow into guest’s shoes! The expressions on their faces when they came out—😳—still crack me up!

And yes! I once took a signboard from a model orchard in Belav just for fun and brought it home to Rajpora! I didn’t step out for two days, scared that my father would thrash me!

Those were nights without sleep—just endless mischief, laughter, and warmth! Life was so much simpler and full of joy!

The Kerala Police took strict action against a car owner who blocked an ambulance from overtaking! They imposed a 2.5 lakh fine, suspended his driving license for 25 years, and personally delivered the challan to his home!

Such firm measures remind us of the importance of enforcing traffic rules to ensure public safety!

Today, I saw an inspiring video that truly warms the heart. kind-hearted young souls, students from Free Birds School, Anantnag came forward with their Gulaks (money banks) to contribute towards the free langar khana run by brother Umar wani at SKIMS Soura, where many needy get the free meals. These young ones donated their savings to support this noble cause, showing incredible compassion and humanity.
A heartfelt salute to their parents, school management and especially the teachers, who are instilling these essential values of empathy and kindness. Once again, this act of generosity is a reminder that learning ethics and humanity should always come first everything else will follow. Mashallah! This video is sure to make your day. may Almighty Allah bless each of them with Health and Zest. (Aameen).
