Don’t care what fans say. Tuchel’s first tournament with England and it’s our best finish since 1966. The longer he is with us, the better we will become. That simple

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea reach verbal agreement with Aston Villa to sign Morgan Rogers. Bid of £117m accepted by #AVFC & being finalised. 6+1y contract, medical Monday. #AFC interested but 23yo attacker wanted #CFC; Xabi Alonso instrumental @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/81YbZw7ELc
Understand Chelsea pitched to Morgan Rogers as a left-wing starter. Rogers equally comfortable and impressive as a number ten, and his versatility part of the appeal to Chelsea, but told he is joining under the impression he'll play on the left, and alongside Cole Palmer.
Along with Xabi Alonso, Behdad Eghbali played a key role in convincing Rogers to join.🏴
👑
Rogers is a wonderful signing for Chelsea. Can play anywhere behind the striker, PL and CL proven and close mates with Cole Palmer. Guess they’ll both be doing the ‘cold’ celebration next season. It’s a hell of a coup given the Arsenal interest.

53.85% to 35%: #AndhraPradesh sets three-year target to reduce #Csection deliveries
The Andhra Pradesh government has set a target of reducing the state's Caesarean section (C-section) delivery rate from 53.85% to 35% by 2028-29, with the Health Department announcing a series of measures, including audits of C-sections, closer monitoring of private hospitals, and incentives to promote normal deliveries.
The decisions were taken during a review meeting chaired by Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav with senior officials at the Secretariat on Friday.
"Labour pain is a unique and incomparable experience in a woman's life that strengthens the bond between mother and child. While Caesarean sections may provide temporary relief, they are generally not as beneficial for mothers and babies as normal deliveries," the Health Department said in a statement issued after the meeting.
The department said the minister expressed concern over the increasing number of Caesarean deliveries in the state and directed officials to prepare a three-year action plan to bring down the rate to 35% by 2028-29.
Andhra Pradesh among states with highest C-section rates
According to data presented during the meeting, 53.85% of all deliveries in Andhra Pradesh in 2025-26 were Caesarean sections, significantly higher than the national average of 30.13%.
The state ranks fourth in the country in terms of C-section deliveries. Telangana recorded the highest rate at 57.5%, followed by Jammu and Kashmir (55.4%) and Tamil Nadu (54.92%).
During 2025-26, Andhra Pradesh recorded 5,20,680 deliveries, of which 2,80,318 were performed through Caesarean section. Government hospitals reported a C-section rate of 40.31%, while the figure in private hospitals stood at 63.84%.
Separate targets for government and private hospitals
As part of the roadmap, the minister directed officials to reduce the C-section rate in government hospitals from the current 43% to 24% and in private hospitals from 64% to 47% over the next three years.
The Health Department said all unnecessary Caesarean deliveries should be curbed through stronger auditing mechanisms. A month-long pilot audit will be conducted in 20 government hospitals to examine every Caesarean delivery, analyse the reasons behind it, and study delivery patterns.
District Medical and Health Officers (DMHOs) have also been instructed to strengthen oversight of private hospitals and carry out audits to discourage avoidable surgical deliveries.
The minister also directed officials to review the current reimbursement structure for normal and Caesarean deliveries under government health schemes. The department has been asked to prepare proposals to rationalise payments and consider providing special incentives to mothers opting for normal deliveries.
Lifestyle changes driving increase, say experts
During the review, senior officials and obstetricians discussed factors contributing to the rise in Caesarean deliveries.
According to the Health Department, experts told the meeting that while normal childbirth may involve labour pain, it offers better long-term outcomes for both mother and child. Caesarean deliveries, they said, often require longer hospital stays, extended recovery periods and may carry additional treatment-related complications.
Experts also attributed the growing number of C-sections to changing lifestyles, increasing obesity, hypertension and diabetes, reduced physical activity, lower tolerance for labour pain, and greater access to advanced medical facilities.
The minister observed that Caesarean deliveries should remain limited to medically necessary situations and should not become routine.
Token system for diagnostic services
Apart from maternal healthcare, the minister reviewed diagnostic services in government hospitals and expressed concern over long waiting times for imaging investigations because of increasing outpatient and inpatient loads.
He directed officials to introduce a token-based appointment system for X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans and PET scans so that patients receive diagnostic services at scheduled times instead of waiting in long queues.
The Health Department has been asked to submit a proposal within a week. The system will initially be introduced on a pilot basis at King George Hospital (KGH), Visakhapatnam, Government General Hospital (GGH), Vijayawada, and selected secondary-level hospitals before being expanded across the state.
Government asks officials to improve utilisation of diagnostic machines
The minister also questioned the large gap in utilisation between diagnostic equipment operated directly by the government and those functioning under public-private partnership (PPP) arrangements.
According to figures reviewed during the meeting, while a CT scanner is benchmarked to perform 15 scans a day, government-operated machines were conducting an average of 34 scans daily, compared with 78 scans by PPP-operated machines.
For MRI scanners, the benchmark is seven scans a day, while government machines performed eight scans and PPP-operated machines 25 scans. In the case of angiography, the corresponding figures were 15, 10 and 19, respectively.
Officials attributed the lower utilisation of government-run equipment partly to staff shortages. The minister directed the department to study the reasons behind the disparity and submit a plan to improve the utilisation of government-owned diagnostic machines.
The review meeting was attended by Health Secretary G. Veerapandian, Director of Secondary Health Chakradhar Babu, Director of Medical Education Vishnuvardhan, Director of Public Health Padmavathi, and other senior officials.
