The Government Notification 12/2026-Cus (2026) reduces basic #customs duty to zero on 40 products with effect from 2nd April 2026 till 30 June 2026. A targeted relief on Phenol, Formaldehyde, Epoxy resin, Urea Formaldehyde, Melamine Formaldehyde, Phenol Formaldehyde, and other key intermediates will protect Indian #manufacturing against global supply shocks. This temporary duty relief is aimed at controlling input cost inflation, supporting #domestic manufacturing, and boosting the competitiveness of the paint, plywood, and consumer goods industry.

The Government Notification 12/2026-Cus (2026) reduces basic customs duty to #zero on 40 products with effect from 2nd April 2026 till 30 June 2026. This includes Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB), which is used in the manufacturing of #soap and #detergents. The industry will benefit from cheaper LAB, enabling cost-effective manufacturing. This temporary duty relief is aimed at controlling input cost inflation, supporting #domestic manufacturing, and boosting the competitiveness of the industry, largely in the #MSME segment.

The #Government Notification 12/2026-Cus (2026) reduces basic #customs duty to #zero on 40 products with effect from 2nd April 2026 till 30 June 2026. #Plastic industry units will benefit from duty-free #Polyethylene (PE), Polypropylene (PP), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) #chips. The duty relief reduces input costs for #MSMEs in the plastic processing industry and will help control inflation in packaging and bottles for #food items, #dairyproducts, fruit drinks, and #drinkingwater.

The Government provides immediate relief to the domestic industry by reducing customs duty to #zero on 40 critical #chemicals and #petrochemicals for three months, to overcome supply chain disruptions due to the Middle East conflict. The zero duty will reduce input costs and increase the competitiveness of the domestic industry in various sectors like chemicals, #plastics, #pharmaceuticals, packaging, #textiles, paint, #plywood, #automobiles, and #consumergoods.

Chaired the 'Manthan Shivir' organised by the Department of Chemicals & Petrochemicals in New Delhi today. This day-long event provided a valuable platform to deliberate on the long-term development of the Indian Chemical and Petrochemical sector.
Discussions were held around six critical themes: Infrastructure Development; Sustainability, Recycling & Circular Economy; Trade Remedial Measures; Boosting Manufacturing Towards Viksit Bharat; Skilled Workforce & Training; and the Road Map for a Future-Ready Plastic Industry.
I commend the Department for organising such a timely and thoughtful event. These collaborative discussions are crucial to transforming our sector and realizing Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi ji's vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
