There are two words here -

Saha - is used for mentioning "living as a joint force for maximum output for the family".

Sama - is used for mentioning equality. This is what the British stole and derived the words Same and Similar from.

Saha-dharminī (सहधर्मिणी) & Sahacāriṇī (सहचारिणी) are the Dharmic words for a Wife.

If Dharm wanted equality, it would have been Sama-dharminī and Samacāriṇī

Watched "Ajey: The Untold Story of A Yogi" today! Honestly, I was expecting a boring political documentary, but was blown away by a brilliant, inspiring & poignant film with great story, gripping screenplay (goosebump moments!), superb acting, great screenplay & nice BGM!

Subtle messages on leadership, sacrifice, real meaning of sannyasa & spirituality are delivered with aplomb, all within a socio-political thriller. Bravo!

For the uninitiated, it's based on the story of @myogiadityanath & beautifully captures his journey from childhood in a middle class family to sannyasa in Nath Sampradaya, to elevation as the head of legendary Gorakhnath Math, to 19-year tenure as a member of Indian Parliament, to rise as the CM of India's largest state.

It doesn't drag anywhere - it moves fast & mostly focuses around inflection points in his story.

Congratulations to @shantanug_, whose book "The Monk Who Became CM" was adapted into this movie!

Congratulations to Anant Joshi for a career defining performance displaying depth and range! The playfulness, resolve, stubbornness, righteous anger, clarity of purpose, inner turmoil, fearlessness, detachment and angst at social injustice and suffering - all varied emotions are portrayed effortlessly.

Congratulations to @SirPareshRawal for yet another great performance (have been Sir's fan for 40 years!) - the calm confidence, measured approach & timeless wisdom of Mahant Avaidyanath come to life in this portrayal!

Even in limited screen time, Garima Vikrant & versatile Pavan Malhotra (another actor I am a big fan of) bring such depth in their performance as Yogi's parents. The scene of the mother confronting her son's Guru and abusing him left and right for trapping her son and giving sannyasa, is such a moving and inspiring scene - so well-written and executed! That scene starts like a violent storm and ends like a slow and blissful exhalation.

There is a common misconception among many - both among people loving and hating Yogi - that he is against a particular minority religion. The movie does justice to his nuanced stand, as someone who practices his religion openly and proudly, but doesn't distinguish between people based on religion or caste, and is determined to finish off criminal gangs running amok in the state with support from the government then and using religion as a card, without worrying about their religion or caste and any misrepresentation his action against those gangsters would invite.

There are many goosebump scenes, but also many thought-provoking scenes. His guru's final teaching to Yogi Adityanath, after a speech by the latter in the parliament, about his sannyasa not being perfect yet and "aham" (I) still being there - is so subtle and enlightening.

I strongly recommend this movie, whether or not one is a fan of Yogi Adityanath! It is entertaining, inspiring and enlightening, all at once.
