Absolutely not. This movie and any movie towing the sequels line will do worse than Mandalorian and Grogu and therefore be dead on arrival. Quit trying to make it happen. Its a dumb lore breaking garbage pail idea. The Cunt of Ben Solo stays dead. Ben Solo had his arc, died, and the sequels already did enough damage. Bringing him back in any form is just more desperate fan-service that ignores how badly that trilogy failed. Real fans don't want another movie propping up the worst part of Star Wars history. Let it die. The EU had better stories and better characters without needing to resurrect failed sequel experiments. Stop forcing the sequels on us.
@TPPNewsNetwork I can sympathise with him. The film is inoffensive and ok. But we really don't care about Disney SW so will mock Disney. Plus, if they had reined in the budget it would be less of a flop. We are hitting Disney in the wallet
@OutSpiralling@ScriptTrooper $300 million revenue. $150 million goes to the theatres playing the movie. $160 million was the production budget. Add the marketing cost on top of that, so total cost $200 million to $250 at least. It needs a revenue if 450 at least to break even
If you are the person constantly complaining Hollywood is woke but won't go and see Masters of the Universe in theaters supporting a genuine good un-woke movie?
YOU'RE PART OF THE PROBLEM.
Go be part of the SOLUTION 🍻
Queridos Gen-Xers y Xennials:
Just saw the new Masters of the Universe last night. It was crazy, fun, and action packed. It looked awesome. They embraced the wild playfulness of the original cartoon, mocked woke nonsense, and mostly stayed away from any real leftist agenda.
I'm BEGGING you guys to go see this film, it's so much fun and full of heart. I promise you'll love it!
If you enjoyed Dungeons and Dragons, you'll LOVE this. Give it a chance!!!!
Just saw Masters of the Universe in IMAX Laser for the second time in three days, and I *never* do that anymore.
This movie is GREAT! Flew by even faster the second time. People in the audience on a freaking Monday afternoon were literally applauding at multiple times throughout the film.
When the credits wound down (and I made sure to stay for the final post credits sequence which I missed the first time) one guy in that back loudly said "That was so good!" And it freaking WAS.
Gosh damn, I just felt good walking out of the theater and had the super catchy rock anthem in my head the entire drive home.
So rare to get to see a film in the theater these days and just be grinning almost from beginning to end, constantly thinking "I can't believe I'm watching this, how did this movie come to be and how is it so much better than I ever imagined?"
The nitpicks I had the first time largely fell by the wayside this time around.
No, the auditorium wasn't packed by any means, but that's part of the reason why I wanted to catch it in IMAX again real quick while I still could.
When this movie is gone, the people who saw it on the big screen are going to be really, really happy they did. Don't miss your chance!
@MitchStockton@Nerdrotics And it was a money printing machine with ready made stories from the extended universe. Just do the thrawn trilogy and you have fans drooling and begging you to take their money. Or Darth Plageus. Or Mauls backstory. So much potential wasted...
@SiegeKnives@CBFwithusrname@Nerdrotics "The moment Anakin's light saber went over Luke's shoulder" oh and now I'm angry again. I stuck around for a few minutes after that, shocked beyond disbelief. I walked out of that theatre and cursed the wrath of God on Disney and Kathleen Kennedy
Let's get one thing straight. I am enjoying Mandalorian and Grogu bombing at the box office. It genuinely makes me happy.
Disney and Lucasfilm have earned every bit of this. Their treatment of George's work and worse, the treatment of the fans is why they are failing. They never understood either.
Hubris, activism, and idiocy have turned it into a zombie franchise. It walks and talks, but has no soul.
What Disney did to Star Wars is a crime against imagination.
Fire EVERYONE at Lucasfilm or not.
Welcome to the long dark apathy of the soul, twats.
