The product was ordered on 9th March, 2026. Did not get shipped till 14th. I cancelled it on 14th when I was given a timeline of 48 hours till 16th. On 16th I was given a timeline of 72 hours till 19th and (1/2)

A moment of immense pride for Gauhati University as Dr. Hemen Kumar Kalita becomes its first Indian Air Force Flying Officer.

Dr. Kalita, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, GU, has successfully completed the rigorous Pre-Commission Training (PRCN) and has been commissioned as a Flying Officer in the Indian Air Force. He secured an excellent rating with ‘A’ grade during his training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee, and the Air Force Station (AFS), Tambaram.

The pipping ceremony was held at AFS Tambaram on 26 December 2025. Phase I of his training was conducted at OTA Kamptee from 1 to 20 September 2025, followed by Phase II at AFS Tambaram from 27 October to 27 December 2025.

This marks a historic first for Gauhati University, with Dr. Kalita becoming the University’s first Associate NCC Officer (ANO) in the NCC Air Force Wing to hold the rank of Flying Officer.

Flying Officer Dr. Kalita will now take on the responsibility of mentoring and motivating NCC cadets at GU, inspiring them to join the armed forces and serve the nation.
