Minorities Rights Day is observed annually on 18th December to commemorate the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Persons Belonging to National or Ethnic, Religious, and Linguistic Minorities in 1992. 18 वर्ष की आयु में देश के लिए बलिदान हो गए थे खुदीराम बोस।

क्रांतिकारी खुदीराम बोस का जन्म 1889 में आज ही बंगाल में हुआ था। किशोरावस्था में ही क्रांतिकारी गतिविधियों में हिस्सा लेने लगे।

15 वर्ष की आयु में अनुशीलन समिति से जुड़कर ब्रिटिश सरकार के खिलाफ पर्चे बांटने का काम किया।

30 अप्रैल 1908 को प्रफुल्ल चंद्र चक्की के साथ मिलकर बिहार की मुजफ्फरपुर में क्रूर अंग्रेज मजिस्ट्रेट किंग्सफोर्ड की हत्या करने के लिए उसकी बग्घी पर बम फेंका।

इसमें दो ब्रिटिश महिलाओं की मौत हो गई इसके आरोप में उन्हें 11 अगस्त को फांसी दे दी गई।
