42 years on, the #Sikh community still doesn’t have the answers or #justice for the 1984 attack on the #GoldenTemple complex in #Amritsar that caused so much death and devastation.
The promised independent inquiry is vital to expose the truth around #OperationBluestar.
Can never forget, desecration of Darbar Sahib especially Akal Takht Sahib , killing thousands of innocent pilgrims. And not a single PM apologised on behalf of GOI
🚨42ND YEAR OF AMRITSAR GENOCIDE: KHALISTAN ACTIVISTS DEFY INDIA, DESTROY TIRANGA OUTSIDE VANCOUVER CONSULATE
In a powerful act of resistance marking the 42nd anniversary of the 1984 Indian Army’s brutal assault on Darbar Sahib, fearless Khalistan Referendum activists in Vancouver tore down and destroyed the Indian Tiranga outside the Indian Consulate.
This bold confrontation directly challenges Indian occupation and sovereignty over Sikh lands. It stands as a fierce reminder of the Amritsar Genocide, where Indian forces massacred more than 10,000 innocent, unarmed Sikh men, women, and children.
Khalistan Zindabad! The Sikh Nation will never forget. The struggle for freedom continues louder, stronger, and unstoppable.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
22 May 2026
On behalf of Sikh organisations and communities across the country, we express our deepest condolences for the tragic loss of life, and our thoughts and prayers remain with the Nowak family and loved ones during this profoundly difficult time.
This incident as reported does not align with the Sikh faith, the Sikh community, or the principles it stands for. Sikh teachings are founded on compassion, justice, humility, responsibility, and service to humanity.
The Sikh community remains peaceful, well-integrated, and a deeply valued part of British society.
We respectfully urge everyone to allow the judicial process to proceed fairly and without prejudice, and to refrain from drawing broad assumptions or judgments about the Sikh faith or Sikh religious practices based on an individual case.
Let us remain united, stay true to our core values, and continue to reject any form of division or negativity-whether intentional or not. Together, we move forward stronger.

🔸1780 EUROPEAN MAP
SHOWING SIKH MISL TERRITORY
BEFORE SIKH EMPIRE 👑
In 1780, a French royal map by Rigobert Bonne labelled central Punjab as “Les Scheiks” ~ referring to the Sikhs. This was during the Misl period, when Sikh confederacies had already become the dominant force in much of Punjab.
By 1765, Sikhs had captured Lahore and were minting coins in the name of the Gurus. Nearly twenty years before the Sikh Empire began in 1799, European scholars were already describing the Sikhs as a powerful and distinct religious community.
“European scholars of the time already described Sikhs as a distinct religion and a dominant military power in Punjab.”
Sovereignty did not begin with an empire, it evolved from the Gurus, to Banda Singh Bahadur, to the Sikh Misls who controlled Punjab long before formal unification.
In 1788, Abraham Hyacinthe Anquetil-Duperron wrote that Sikhs rejected the authority of the Puranas and did not accept the divinity of Brahma, Vishnu, or Shiva. His account shows that even foreign observers recognised Sikh theology as separate and independent in the 18th century.
Don’t fall for the brainwash that Sikh sovereignty started with Ranjit Singh.
We are borne sovereign.

MEDIA ALERT
“1947 — BRITAIN’S BLUNDER” - SFJ TO HOLD
KHALISTAN REFERENDUM AWARENESS RALLY DURING KING CHARLES VISIT TO NEW YORK
WHO:
Pro-Khalistan American Sikhs and supporters of the Khalistan Referendum
WHAT:
1947 — BRITAIN’S BLUNDER
KHALISTAN REFERENDUM AWARENESS RALLY
Theme:
2026 — KING CHARLES, RIGHT THE WRONG
An awareness rally highlighting the historical impact of the 1947 partition on Punjab and advocating Sikh self-determination through the Khalistan Referendum.
WHEN:
Tuesday, April 29, 2026
TIME: 12:00 PM
WHERE:
9/11 Memorial
New York City, NY
WHY:
Sikhs For Justice states that Punjab lost sovereignty in 1849 under British annexation — and that sovereignty was not restored in 1947 during decolonization. Instead, Punjab was partitioned and incorporated into India, disregarding Sikh political aspirations.
SFJ asserts that Britain’s blunder — from annexation to partition — left Sikh political status unresolved, leading to genocide, econocide, and now ethnic cleansing under India’s Modi regime, along with transnational targeting of pro-Khalistan Sikhs in Canada, the United Kingdom, Italy, and the United States.
With King Charles visiting New York, SFJ states this is a moment to raise global awareness about the consequences of Britain’s colonial decisions and to seek support for the ongoing global Khalistan Referendum.
SFJ General Counsel GURPATWANT SINGH PANNUN:
“Punjab lost its sovereignty in 1849 — and in 1947, Britain exited without restoring it. That is the blunder we are addressing today.”
“What followed was not decolonization for Sikhs, but decades of genocide, economic destruction, and now global targeting of those who support Khalistan. We call upon King Charles to acknowledge this historical wrong and support Sikh self-determination through the Khalistan Referendum.”
