MAGA long before MAGA was a word.... I am Not a life long republican. I am a conservative. Currently, the GOP aligns closer to my values than anything else.

Incredibly many proposed huge migrant centres, like this building in Co Mayo, have mysteriously burned to the ground suddenly🔥🔥

Happy Father’s Day to my darling Dad in Heaven.
Here’s a little story, typical of my Dad.
We were lower middle class in 1982 but my parents were on the upswing. They both had good jobs and I don’t ever remember feeling like we were going without.
My Mom participated in the Christmas Club at her bank and put in $10-20 every couple of weeks to save money for Christmas.
For Christmas that year, I asked my Dad for an expensive (at the time) sweatet. It was $60 back then, purple angora and the softest thing in the world.
My Mom said absolutely not. It was an outrageous request, and would be the bulk of the budget for my gifts.
I was a bit disappointed but not much. I knew it wasn’t a reasonable ask. It was just what I wish I could have.
Christmas morning came and I opened so many awesome presents, it was amazing. Just like every Christmas when I was a child.
After the last gifts were opened, I started picking up all the wrapping paper and Dad said I missed a gift, and he pulled one out from behind the bookshelf.
I opened it and there it was….my beautiful purple angora sweater. That sweater was the softest thing I had ever felt, and it looked like a dream to me.
It was a wonderful surprise and when I looked over, smiling, at my Mom, she gave my Dad that look- he was in trouble because it was a surprise for her, too.
But then, when I looked back at my Dad, smiling with tears in my eyes, he was all smiles, too. I hugged him so tight, I can still remember that hug to this day.
And that’s how all our Christmases went……they were magical.
Me and my Dad around 2014. I really miss him.
Fathers (and men in general) are under attack like never before…called toxic, told they’re not needed, their role constantly torn down.
But today we’re lifting up the real ones. The dads who show up, protect, lead, and build legacies their kids and grandkids will carry forever.
If you’re a good dad or know one… this is for you.
Happy Father’s Day!!! 💕
