everyone’s mad at you but im gonna stick up for you as someone whose pregnant- it’s normal and fine to want complete alone time. time to just exist in the house, make noise without worrying about being interrupted. it’s a rare bit of freedom and you don’t get that with a SAHM
I’ve gotten into a few arguments with Twitter Mexicans trying to tell me being indigenous isn’t a race and is about culture, status and life experiences.
Isn’t it funny how deep down they know what an Amerindian race is when it’s time to throw down insults.
@Aphorim@deer_auani Indigenous peoples are forced to learn spanish just to find a job, get basic education, exercise political rights, or access justice and healthcare. Even when they are bilingual, the stigma around their skin color, clothes, accent, and culture remains. Mestizaje is forced.
@BorasWife_ She quoted me once. I browsed her posts, her vibe was “these browns are annoying, I’m glad I was raised around white pppl, but I was called prieta as a child so it’s ok for me to talk down on brown people”
🙄
this is why i don’t take the political reverence around 9/11 seriously at all. the government did not care about the victims then & they certainly don’t now & in between all they have done is use a tragedy as a cudgel to advance racism, imperialism & the roll back of our rights.
@Aphorim I don’t really care about the guys in this band. I never heard of them until Mexican twitter users started bringing them up in comments, and not my type of music. They very likely are mestizos, idk their background, but that didn’t stop Mexicans from throwing slurs at them.
