90 runs and 19 lifts spinning at Deer Valley today. Our grooming team is working hard to keep as much terrain open as possible. Conditions can change quickly, check the Mountain Report for the latest. https://t.co/4TdCtpFMmr
Our team takes this responsibility very seriously and is committed to being strong stewards of the land. The runs and snowmaking system have been designed to allow as much water as possible to return back into the reservoir. Snowmaking is considered a non-consumptive use of water. The water is stored on the mountain as snow during the winter, and when it melts, more than 80% returns to the Jordanelle Reservoir.
Chairlift Chat is back.
Ride along with Senior Snowmaking Manager Brett “Bear” Hawksford and Todd Bennett for a behind-the-scenes look at how Deer Valley builds winter, from 80 miles of new snowmaking pipe to the future of the expanded terrain.
