Well, it is official. I will no longer be @deerescott. If you want to follow me on my new adventure, add me on @claasscott. Officially start the new role on Sept. 30.
@Plantmore1@FarmerCoburn2 Where are you running your down pressure gauge at when cutting? If you run it just above the 0 you will have less downforce on the header and maybe drag less mud?
@jcalder1983@BlairSteen @neiljakubowski @CsverskoKyle @Erindjc I am pretty sure Vale Farms (original 1870 manufacturer) was producing the 1870 (in a different name) in Saskatchewan before Seedhawk was even formed. So really, seedhawk is the culprit here, haha
@Alexfarmer90 The new tires are awesome in the mud and leave very little compaction. The old C2 tires are just implement tires, but that being said I have customers who have used them for four seasons and haven't had mud issues.
@Alexfarmer90 The tank calibration can now be done on your smartphone, (entering weights and all) which is nice. And the fans have enough kick to carry the product.
@Alexfarmer90 The tank could use a little more finnesing. The metering is deadly accurate, and the stainless steel meter housings are awesome, but there are a few improvents that could be made on the auger (faster) as well as the top/bottom shoot selector.
@fredweisg No, the older ones had it, but they have changed up the lines as well as the routing, so pretty much nonexistent now. The problem with the earlier ones was a vibration in the lines at a certain RPM. It would drive you nuts after a long day.
The proportion of female farmers is increasing even as total farm operators decreases. In fact, women now make up 28.7% of the farmers in the country. Check out our blog to see one woman's journey and experiences.
