Motorists and truck drivers in KwaZulu-Natal are being urged to stay alert following a diesel drive-off incident involving a white MAN truck at Engen Simjees on the M19 westbound in Clare Hills, Durban.
The truck driver allegedly filled up with diesel worth R13,000 before leaving the forecourt without paying.
Initially, the registration number DC 04 JH ZN was circulated. However, the rightful owner of those plates has since come forward, confirming that his vehicle was not involved and that his truck differs from the one captured in the garage’s images.
After comparing details and photographs, it is now believed that the number plates were cloned.
The garage owner has released images of the truck and the driver involved in the incident.
The photos clearly show a white MAN truck, and the individual believed to be the driver at the time of the alleged drive-off.
