The continued abduction of school children and teachers in Esinele, Yamota, and Alawusa Towns in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State for ten days is a painful reminder of the worsening insecurity facing our nation. Every day these innocent Nigerians remain in captivity is another day of fear, trauma, and uncertainty for their families and communities.

We call on the Government at all levels and all security agencies to intensify efforts toward their immediate rescue and, more importantly, develop a lasting and practical solution to the insecurity threatening lives across the country.
Schools should be safe spaces for learning — not grounds for fear and kidnapping.

Nigeria cannot move forward when citizens live in constant fear. The protection of lives and property must remain the government’s highest priority.
