Every year, from 31st March to 5th April, we organise the Freedom Trail from Kenzamani to Tawang, retracing the historic path of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s entry into India in 1959.
This sacred journey is more than a trek; it is a tribute to peace, compassion, resilience and the enduring human spirit. It reminds us of a defining moment in history and carries forward the timeless message of harmony and unity.
As we walk this path together, we reaffirm our commitment to the values of kindness and coexistence.
Let us honor the legacy.
Let us walk with purpose.
Let us keep the spirit alive.

Meet #BorderBrewCafe, a unique initiative where a decommissioned Bailey Bridge has been transformed into a cozy sanctuary in one of India’s last inhabited frontier regions.
In just 31 days, the Indian Army and the local Monpa community turned steel and wood into a symbol of hope and hospitality. It’s a reminder that even at the edge of the map, creativity knows no borders.
Next time you’re near the Indo-Tibet border, don’t just pass through. Stop for a brew, meet the locals, and experience a "bridge of opportunity" firsthand.
A remarkable blend of service, innovation & community empowerment.
#BorderBrewCafe at #Zemithang, developed by the Indian Army under #OpSadbhavna, transforms a decommissioned Bailey Bridge over the Nyamjang Chu into a vibrant hub of opportunity. Completed in a record 31 days, it is uplifting Monpa communities and strengthening local livelihoods.

Jemeithang’s Journey: From Pollution to Preservation
Once, the serene riverside of Jemeithang bore an unseen burden, heaps of disposable diapers, carelessly dumped near its banks. What seemed like a convenient solution became a silent threat to our environment, polluting our waters, harming wildlife, and endangering the very land we depend on.
But change begins with awareness and action.

A New Dawn in Jemeithang
This video captures a powerful moment of transformation, the people of Jemeithang coming together, cleaning used diapers, and handing them over for proper collection.
After the formation of the Waste Management Committee and ongoing awareness efforts, a quiet revolution has begun. What was once a growing concern has now turned into a community-driven solution.
Each diaper cleaned, each step taken, is a reflection of our shared commitment to protect the environment that nurtures us.
This is more than waste collection…
It is ownership,
It is responsibility,
It is love for our land, our river, and our future.
Jemeithang is not just cleaning its surroundings…
We are restoring our harmony with nature, one diaper at a time.

A Permanent Step Toward a Cleaner Jemeithang
From concern to commitment…from awareness to action.
Today, Jemeithang stands proud as we embrace a sustainable and lasting solution to one of our biggest environmental challenges.
We are now actively encouraging the use of reusable diapers, period panties, and menstrual cups…a thoughtful shift away from disposable products that once polluted our land and threatened our river.
These small, everyday choices are creating a ripple of change…making waste easier to manage, protecting our natural surroundings, and inspiring others to follow.
Let us continue walking this green path, hand in hand, for the well-being of our people and the purity of our environment.
With care, @deewanmara
