Bitcoin was designed so that you don't need to trust a group of people. Only that it should not be possible that someone would gain 51% hash power.
Here you see the BSV folks fundamentally disagree with the basic design of the Bitcoin system.
- There will be no split
- You can't have two chains without replay protection
- Only one chain will survive.
- Nakamoto Consensus applies across incompatible chains.
- There will be three coins.. abc, bsv, and "unified coin".
Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong.
All Bitcoin exists because
1) people ran code on their computers
2) that code created a limited number of digital ledger coins
3) these can be moved to another using a cryptographic key
Some people decided to call this money.
Why is any of that the government’s business?
Satoshi must not be forgotten and his influence should not disappear. His old writings should be looked at both technically and historically.

That moment when government threatens to ban cryptocurrency “to prevent people from losing money”, which then ends up crashing the market and makes people *actually lose money*. Government, please stay out of our lives, thank you!
Everyone who bought the top wooed w/Store of Value dreams are getting shaken out as the market corrects. What’s left are early adopters and people who believe in the philosophical change and disruption that Bitcoin brings the world. Disruption happens in phases, not overnight.
BTC would have gone on to hit $100,000 easily if not for limiting the number of users that can viably enter.
