#GeneralUpendraDwivedi, #COAS visited the Cherchell Military Academy, Algeria’s premier institution for officer training. #COAS was briefed on Academy’s vital role in preparing cadets for leadership role as officers in the Algerian Army. Interacting with the faculty, #COAS commended them on their dedication and excellent standards of training and encouraged them to strive for excellence in service to their Nation.
#COAS further added that he looked forward to cooperation and exchange of best practices between the Cherchell Academy and the Training Institutes of the Indian Armed Forces.

Veteran Achievers Award: Recognising Contributions, Rewarding Excellence

#GeneralUpendraDwivedi, #COAS honoured four Veterans with the ‘Veteran Achievers Award’ at Chennai, for their selfless service beyond uniform towards welfare of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, youth empowerment and nation building.

Colonel Krishnaswami A (Retd) is the founder of ‘Armed Forces Veteran Officers Association’ in Chennai and has been actively involved in interacting with various agencies for welfare of ex-servicemen of all the three services.

Captain Tamil Selvan D (Retd), has been actively involved in field of General Surgery & Urology in state government medical services & Military Hospital, Chennai for treatment of patients and guiding young specialist at Military Hospital during advanced procedures.

Subedar Major & Hony Lieutenant S Sugumar (Retd) has helped more than 2000 ex-servicemen and widows in receiving their claims valuing more than Rs 50 crore. He also gives voluntary services at ECHS Polyclinic, Madurai.

Havildar A Rajendran (Retd) has established ‘Seyon Educational and Charitable Trust’ and provides free of cost training to local youth for entrance into Army, CAPF and Police to include provision of free accommodation.

CHESS DRDO conducted a successful field demonstration of the Land version of Vehicle mounted Laser Directed Weapon(DEW) MK-II(A) at Kurnool today. It defeated the fixed wing UAV and Swarm Drones successfully causing structural damage and disable the surveillance sensors. During the conference, he engaged with senior commanders from all three services and emphasised the importance of adapting operational preparedness to meet the evolving security landscape. He underscored the need for innovative solutions that leverage emerging technologies to achieve battlefield dominance and address complex security challenges.

#COAS, addressed all ranks of #Jodhpur Military Station and interacted with troops during his visit. He also felicitated selected individuals for their outstanding professional excellence and steadfast dedication to duty.

DRDO and Indian Navy successfully flight tested Naval Anti Ship Missile Short Range (NASM-SR) on 25 Feb 2025 from ITR, Chandipur. The trials have proven the missile’s Man-in-Loop feature and scored a direct hit on a small Ship target in sea-skimming mode at its maximum range

#AeroIndia 2025 : Indigenisation in Ammunition

The #IndianArmy stalls saw a large number of visitors on the first day of Aero India 2025.

Under the landmark project "Manufacture of Ammunition for Indian Army by Indian Industry" initiative of Government of India, a quantum leap has been taken by indigenising 88% of Indian Army's ammunition through concerted efforts in coordination with #DRDO, DPSUs and Private Industry.

Lieutenant General MV Suchindra, GOC in C @northerncomd_ia and Lieutenant General ADS Aujla, Master General Sustenance alongwith other senior hierarchy both from the nation and foreign countries visited the stalls and were briefed on the measures being taken to reduce import dependence by the #IndianArmy.

The visit of high-level delegation led by Lieutenent General Batoo Tshering, Chief Operations Officer, #COO of the Royal Bhutan Army has successfully concluded today.This visit reinforced bilateral military cooperation, explored new avenues for defence collaboration and reaffirmed the enduring bond between both the Armies.

India and Bhutan share a deep-rooted friendship built on historical ties, cultural affinity and mutual respect. Their partnership reflects a bond of trust and cooperation that has strengthened over the decades.
