I congratulate Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki Imam Fulani on his appointment as the Chief Imam of Ilorin Emirate by our royal father, the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR.
This appointment is a well-deserved recognition of Sheikh Dasuki’s deep Islamic scholarship and his many years of selfless service to the Muslim community in Ilorin and beyond. He comes from a distinguished line of Islamic scholars whose contributions to religious education in our Emirate speak for themselves.
I also commend our royal father for the painstaking, transparent process that led to this appointment.
I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants the new Chief Imam wisdom, good health, and divine guidance as he takes on this important responsibility, and that his tenure be beneficial to Islam, the Ilorin Emirate, and humanity.
JUST 2 DAYS TO GO!
My leader, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki (CON), is stepping on stage at The Platform Nigeria this Friday !
Date: Friday, 12th June 2026
Time: 9:00 AM
Venue: Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja
Theme: Governance. Democracy.
National Security.Nigeria has plenty of questions… and this time, someone is finally ready to answer them honestly and plainly - no more tiptoeing !
Dr. Saraki has never been afraid to speak truth to power. Whether you agree with him or not, you know he will deliver. Don’t watch the highlights later. Don’t rely on second-hand reports. Be there when it’s said!
Your Excellency @RealAARahman, it is deeply concerning that individuals can move freely around Kwara State with weapons like this in broad daylight. With the current security challenges, allowing this poses a huge risk to citizens. We need immediate action. #KwaraSecurity
The Next Senate Assembly: Ending Executive Interference in the Election of the Senate President
One of the reasons why the 9th and 10th Senate Assemblies fell so badly can be attributed to the undue influence of the Executive in the election process of the Senate President.
As long as the Executive continues to influence the emergence of Senate leadership, the Legislature will not function optimally.
I sincerely hope that the next Senate Assembly will not perform worse than the current one, given the reported efforts of Senator Hope Uzodimma to succeed Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Sincerely speaking, I have nothing against Senator Hope Uzodimma or his ambition to become the next Senate President.
However, he does not appear to be someone who would strongly uphold the independence of the Senate.
Again, the Executive must not be allowed to influence the election of the next Senate President. That practice is undermining our democracy and weakening the independence of the Legislature.
We can recall with nostalgia how the 8th Senate Assembly, under the leadership of Dr. Bukola Saraki, performed and left a good legacy that is yet to be surpassed by the 9th and 10th Senate Assemblies.
Back then, the Executive and the national leadership of the APC preferred Senator Ahmad Lawan, believing he would be more subservient to President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, against all odds, Dr. Bukola Saraki emerged as Senate President, and his performance is a testament to why the Executive should not be allowed to determine Senate leadership.
As we prepare for the upcoming general election, I sincerely hope that Nigerians will elect more competent representatives to the National Assembly.
Kwara State experienced eight years of Saraki/PDP governance, followed by years without him, and the difference is clear. We know what the PDP can do and what happened under the APC. The choice for 2027 is straightforward.
Let me ask you something directly.
When Saraki was Governor of Kwara State — who was directing him? Who told him what to do? Who was his patron, pulling strings from above?
Nobody.
He governed on his own vision. His own team. His own convictions. And when he got to the Senate, same thing. The whole country witnessed it.
That matters more than people realise.
A leader who governs based on what someone else wants is not really governing. He's executing instructions.
In Nigerian politics, the popular saying is that power is not given, it is taken. And that's true, to a point.
But Bukola Saraki proved something slightly different. He proved that power built on real hard work.
They can remove you from office. They can file cases against you. They can send armed men to your workplace.
But they cannot erase what you built when you had the chance to build.
For your reminder; Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki will be on the platform Nigeria in 5-Days time by 9am at Lagos Marriott Hotel Ikeja.
Program Theme: Governance Democracy. National Security.
Stay glue and save the date to enjoy the insightful discussion from HE, Saraki’s.
A nursing mother was taken from Woro, Kwara State, on February 3rd.
Four months later, she’s still with terrorists.
Yet, her government @RealAARahman spent ₦578m on official cars this year.
It spent ₦0 on security equipment.
176 women and children were dragged away by terrorists FOUR MONTHS ago in Kwara state
FOUR MONTHS LATER, they’re still not home.
Families are now hearing that terrorists are preparing a Quranic graduation for their mothers and daughters.
And AbdulRazaq? He budgeted ₦4.5 BILLION for security this year.
Yet he spent ₦0 of it on equipment in Q1. Zero. Nothing.
But ₦578 MILLION was released for Toyota Corolla Hybrids — for government officials driving around Ilorin.
Let that sink in.
Your mother could be in that bush.
Their concern was their car.
This is what 7 years of APC looks like in Kwara.
Not development. Not security.
2027 is coming. Remember Woro.
Those saying my leader @BukolaSaraki will come to the aid of the NILDS DG, Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, are really funny. Why would Saraki do such a stupid thing?
Please YE, face your front on this one. This isn’t your battle to fight, let him carry his cross.
