In an interview with threadguy on Oct 11, 2025, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) @cz_binance stated he never opposed Meme coins, but simply "does not trade" them. CZ shared that his first attempt to buy a Meme coin in February led to an MEV attack, resulting in a failed transaction and mockery. He also mentioned that almost any tweet he posts could be turned into a Meme, which once made him hesitant to tweet.
