Letterkenny University Hospital has lost its dermatology service a 🧵 1/ following the resignation this week of Dr Padmore, Sligo University Hospital will be expected to pick up the slack but it's consultant, Dr Dermot McKenna, has written to Donegal GPs and is not happy.
4/ Only 52% of patients are seen in Letterkenny's ED within 6 hours of presentation, far short of the 95% target. 27% of patients currently experience a wait time in excess of 9 hrs. LUH is the 6th busiest hospital in the country but is 14th in terms of funding per patient.
One of the country's top consultants has described conditions at Letterkenny University Hospital as "barbaric". Mr Michael Sugrue is one of 11 senior consultants who signed a letter calling for urgent action. They warn of an increased risk of service collapse @DonnellyStephen
