@UrsherIsMyName @WallStreetApes - poorly, then that’s on them. The point of the SNAP program is to combat hunger, not dictate a healthy diet. There’s also the fact that unhealthy food is usually a lot cheaper. I’d be hard pressed to eat healthily with $187 to work with every month.

And while I understand the desire for people to eat properly, they are given an average of $187 per person, so if they choose to eat -

Even someone who is a resident needs to have lived here for 5 years before being eligible for ANY federal program. DHS has direct access to both SSA and IRS information, so the application would end as soon as their SSN is given.

Also, 2% of 42 million is about 840k, so it’s possible fraud is rampant in your area. Question is, why haven’t you reported it if “everyone you know” is selling their benefits?
