South Africa’s Office of the Public Protector was created by the Constitution to be an independent champion for ordinary citizens — a fearless watchdog against maladministration, corruption, and abuse of power by those in authority. Under Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka, who assumed the role in November 2023 after serving as Deputy and then Acting Public Protector, that promise has been badly betrayed. Instead of safeguarding the rights and interests of millions of struggling South Africans, her office has repeatedly acted as a shield for President Cyril Ramaphosa and the ruling elite. The Phala Phala Scandal: The Defining FailureThe clearest example came with the Phala Phala farm scandal. In 2022, allegations emerged that large sums of foreign currency (reportedly around $580,000) were stolen from President Ramaphosa’s private game farm in Limpopo. Questions arose about the source of the cash, possible money laundering, the involvement of state security agencies in the cover-up, and whether the President had exposed himself to conflicts of interest.
To this day she had done nothing concrete since she took over that office .
South Africans deserves better than this.
IT'S A WHISPER IN MY EARS👂👂
Yesterday Pelepele🌶️🌶️digg deeper why this germ doesn't have a team as we speak???.. Hearing now👂"There's still a dispute regarding he's contract so they are still trying to find each other on a 1year option. According to👉🌶️🌶️lawyers are buzzy👀
Everyday I asked myself "where would we be if General Mkhwanazi did not address the nation on the July 6th 2025"
President Ramaphosa would've not acted on any yet he has the SSA in his office and knows a lot.
He would have not appointed the #MadlangaCommission and more

ActionSA has instructed its legal team to institute proceedings in the High Court to review and set aside SAPS' findings against Wally Rhoode and HH Rekhoto.
SAPS's investigation into the conduct of these men around the Phala Phala matter is a whitewash.
True and it must be noted the @News24 is part of the problems we have in this country ,they always have to drive a certain narrative instead of finding facts and reporting fair .
They are not a reliable source and their journalists and ex- are always caught with pants down .
This woman just 2 weeks ago organized his own exclusive commission of enquiry with news24 investigative journalists, trying to respond to the mess she made of attempting to arrest Khumalo & Mkhwanazi. But when it comes to appearing at Madlanga Commission, she is hiding 🤔
"I invite you Members to get a profile of the arresting officer, Padayachee, in the Khumalo & team case matter."
But did #AdhocCommittee even lift a finger to get the Padayachee profile?
No.🚮
This jollofina (@PearlThusi) must be arrested for encouraging criminals to come to SA to steal our IDs as this young girl is suffering today because of people who are stealing IDs like @Chaddima
