Urgent Appeal 🆘: Death Sentence for Arghavan Fallahi Upheld Amid Outcry

The Iranian regime’s Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence for Arghavan Fallahi, a 25-year-old political prisoner and supporter of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

This sentence was originally issued on July 1 of this year by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court under Judge Abolqasem Salavati on charges of “rebellion” (Baghi) and communicated via her attorney. With its confirmation by the highest judicial authority, the risk of her execution is now imminent.

The confirmation of the death sentence for Arghavan Fallahi comes despite an international wave of protests and condemnations in recent weeks.

نگاه محمدرضا شاه به زنان

چنین نگاهی به زن فقط یک پیش‌داوری اشتباه نیست، کسی که زن رو ناقص‌تر و کم‌عقل‌تر از مرد می‌دونه شخصاً نتیجه و محصول مناسبات متعفن جنسیت‌زده، اقتدارگرایانه و ظالمانه است. این نگرش در خلأ شکل نگرفته، بلکه از خانواده، سنت، ساختارهای قدرت در او نهادینه شده!
مثلاً فرزند یک انسان مدرن یا تحصیل‌کرده و آشنا با حقوق‌بشر و دموکراسی هیچوقت چنین نگاهی به زنان نداره
(اما وقتی بچه‌ی رضاخان میرپنج باشی این نگاه کاملاً طبیعیه.)
بنابراین مسئله فقط این نیست که فرد «باور نادرستی» داره؛ مسئله عقب‌ماندگی تاریخی فردی است که امروز رسانه‌های زرد و بی‌محتوا برخلاف فکت‌های مسلم تاریخی، او رو انسانی مدرن جلوه می‌دن که قصد آبادانی ایران رو داشته!
در حالی که بدون تردید:
کسی که چنین نگاهی به زن داره نمی‌تونه همزمان فردی دموکرات باشه، نمی‌تونه مدرن باشه، نمی‌تونه به حقوق‌بشر معتقد باشه، نمی‌تونه...
چنین فردی یادگرفته که انصاف و واقعیت رو قربانی تعصبات شخصی بکنه و این رویه در تمامی رفتارهای او جریان داره...

Jina Mahsa Amini was a young woman who was arrested on September 13, 2022, by the regime’s Guidance Patrol (Morality Police) and went into a coma due to severe beatings and blows to the head, passing away in the hospital on September 16.
Her tragic death sparked an explosion of pent-up grief that shook all pillars of the ruling tyranny for six months.

This war is giving the Iranian regime even more excuses to ramp up its brutal repression and execute political prisoners. Yesterday they hanged Mehdi Khanaki, a 26-year-old law graduate and member of the MEK/PMOI. This is completely unacceptable.
The Iranian people are caught between external strikes and the regime’s internal terror. True peace and security can only come when the regime stops killing its own citizens and respects human rights. The world must not stay silent
