Sometimes the spirit is so manifest in a speaker that nothing else will or can reproduce it. We have records of this happening, honestly think something like this happened Sat afternoon. Reading it will tell you what was said, you have to feel the spirit.
When I was 16 years old I had an experience that changed me forever.
One General Conference Saturday I was scheduled to work in the afternoon. I went to the first session of conference (this was back when we went to the church to watch conference) but left after to go to work.
As I drive away from the building I looked back in my rear view mirror and I heard this thought as clear as day run through my mind.
โThe most important words being spoken on earth today, are being spoken right now in that building.โ
I felt an ache in my heart. I was missing it!! And for what? I instantly regretted that I hadnโt ask for the day off. That I was missing listening to prophets and apostles speak to go scoop ice cream at Baskin Robbinโs.
That was the last time I missed listening to conference live. Today if I canโt be sitting, actively watching (which is always my first choice and priority), then I am listening live.
I know I could read the talked later, now days you can watch the talks later, but I still keep a commitment that I made in my heart and to my Lord when I was 16 years old. I set these Conference weekends apart for a special observance of my faith and my gratitude to have living prophets.
General Conference has become like a reverent and joyful holiday weekend. We do special things to prepare, we eat special foods, and I make it the center of my yearly goal setting and personal progress reporting to God.
Treating conference this way has blessed my life beyond measure. I can go back in my journal and see the talks that have shaped my spiritual progress and been catalysts for me to draw nearer to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I delight in conference. I love the feeling of gathering in a worldwide church all together, listening and singing together. It is extraordinary!!

Ngl itโs funny seeing people crashout about the gambling scene and attempt to justify it by comparing it to actual calculated risk and not just a game of chance ๐คฃ
Mark Ruffalo warns that Democrats need to be watchful for voting machine manipulation and suggests Elon Musk could be involved:
"We need to be on guard for what we may not see coming -- ELON."
"That's the cybersecurity of these elections."
"We know that these systems are vulnerable."
We have been reliably informed for years that this kind of rhetoric Undermines Faith In Elections and is Very Dangerous To Democracy
This popped up as a memory on my Facebook page and while it is certainly politically incorrect, it is equally as funny. It reminds me of the first arrest I ever made as a cop. He was also a DWARF. I took a lot of crap over that one for a long time.
We need to provide education in trades and skills that can help people improve their lives. Here so many of the high schools don't teach important skills like welding or auto mechanics let alone something like CNC machining, or computer networking.
Most people donโt know what to DO with money.
If you give a million dollars to someone living in squalor, theyโll just buy a million-dollars-worth of squalor.
I left Utah once, I went to what they like to call the midwest. I have driven to some of the closer states, lived so close that I might as well live there. But I don't even have a passport. Something I will fix soon.
Venture capitalists might consider that if we have a Mars colony we would be 100% more likely as a race to survive one fanatic in control of a nuclear weapon. Heinlein was right, we need more places for humanity to survive.
Elon Musk on Mars colonization:
โIโm not going to ask any venture capitalists for money.
I realize that it makes no sense as an investment.
Thatโs why Iโm gathering resources.โ
