@DavidDanaci @IntAdsSoc @PalkovitsLab We tried other adsorbents such as different types of zeolites. However the adsorption capacity was lower (around 100 mg/g). In terms of selectivity towards lysine, they also showed promising results and investigations will be done in the future.

Indeed, the shape of the isotherms changed significantly upon the incorporation of surface oxygen functional groups. The O‐enriched activated carbon possessed a significantly higher water uptake at low relative pressure p/p0=0.1–0.6.

@alejandraolira @IntAdsSoc 1/2 Hello, my collegue @IsabelMoritz and I are also working on the adsorption of itaconic acid for the recovery in fermentation processes. We found out that very hydrophobic adsorbents showed high IA adsorption while having best desorption results using EtOH.

@JNA800389 @IntAdsSoc @PalkovitsLab Thanks for your question! Regeneration is done by using water as desorption solvent at pH of around 7. As the adsorption takes place at pH of 10 it is kind of a pH swing. Ihope this answers your question!

@rafa_morales90 @IntAdsSoc @PalkovitsLab 2/2 The water vapor adsorption isotherms were measured by using an Autosorb® iQ. Water vapor isotherms can be measured in the range of p/p0=0.1–0.9. The isotherms were measured at 30��°C. I hope i could answer your questions!

@rafa_morales90 @IntAdsSoc @PalkovitsLab 1/2 Thank you very much:) H2O sorption enables insights with regard to the surface polarity that result from the specific surface functionality and morphology of the carbon. This knowledge was used to improve the selectivity towards targeted molecules.

@RajendranArvind @IntAdsSoc @PalkovitsLab Thank you for your questions! We used concentrations of 10-30 g/L and glucose-lysine compositions of 1:1 (10 g/L). These conditions were used to simulate fermentation broths. The process is foreseen to be used in as a continuous, where the fermenation and adsorption are connected

@daaliaa22 @IntAdsSoc @PalkovitsLab Thank you very much! Boehm titration is used to determine the functional groups present on the surface of the activated carbons. Different bases such as NaOH or NaHCO3 are used as titration agent to determine the amount of groups like carboxylic acids, lactones or phenols.
