JUST IN: Nigeria’s Federal Civil Service has met a critical December 31 digital deadline, completing a sweeping transition to paperless operations across all federal ministries and extra-ministerial departments.
This achievement builds on years of steady reform, from the launch of the Enterprise Content Management System in 2017 to the FCSSIP25 digitalisation push.
Official communication has also transformed. From fewer than 20,000 accounts in 2024, to over 100,000 officers who now have secure official email addresses, boosting efficiency, and saving the Government billions of Naira.
🇳🇬 A Defining Moment for Nigeria’s Civil Service.
Today, the Federal Civil Service achieved a historic milestone! As of 30th December 2025, all 38 Federal Ministries and Extra-Ministerial Departments (MEMDs), including the State House, OSGF, OHCSF, the Federal Civil Service Commission, and the Office of the Accountant-General, are paperless. This is a bold transition to a modern, digitally enabled, and accountable Public Service.
The Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation remains committed to sustaining momentum, and empowering officers with tools and training for a fully modern Civil Service.
Here’s to a faster, transparent, and citizen-focused Federal Civil Service in 2026!
