OPERATION HADIN KAI AIRSTRIKES NEUTRALISES 15 TERRORISTS NORTH-WEST OF PULKA
The Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has recorded another operational success with the neutralisation of 15 terrorists in a precision air strike north-west of Pulka in Gwoza LGA of Borno State, underscoring the sustained pressure being exerted on terrorist elements across the theatre.
The operation was conducted at about 11:50 p.m. on 23 October 2026, following credible intelligence and confirmed sightings of terrorist movements in the general area of Pulka. The precision strike was subsequently followed by ground operations to exploit the area and consolidate the operational gains.
The successful engagement highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven targeting and coordinated military action in disrupting terrorist movements and degrading their operational capabilities. It also reflects the unwavering commitment of Operation HADIN KAI to denying terrorist groups freedom of action and preventing them from threatening communities within the theatre.
The Theatre Command also calls on members of the public to sustain their cooperation with security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious movements and activities. The continued partnership between the military and the civilian population remains essential to consolidating operational gains and achieving lasting peace and security across the North East.

UPDATE ON WAR ON TERRORISM IN NIGERIA
The Nigerian government has announced that 653 of the 1,060 terrorism suspects brought before the Federal High Court in Abuja have been convicted in the 11th phase of its mass trials.
The figure which the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, disclosed on Friday, was described as the largest in such exercise since the programme began.
The disclosure, however, comes amid mounting allegations of enforced disappearances and secret detentions linked to Nigeria’s counter-terrorism operations. Fagbemi said 880 cases had been handled as of 12:15 p.m. on Friday, resulting in the 653 convictions, seven acquittals, and 27 discharges, with final figures pending the exercise’s conclusion on Saturday.
“This is the third phase this year alone. But generally, this is the 11th phase,” the AGF told journalists after stepping out of the courtroom. “For this 11th phase… we have 1,060 suspects brought for trial. We are not through with it. As at quarter after 12 today, we have had about 880 trials. Of this 880, 653 have been convicted, seven acquitted, 27 discharged”. He attributed the progress to cooperation among judges, prosecutors, defence lawyers, and security agencies, singling out the judges sitting under Justice Binta Nyako, who has been holding forth for the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.
He also acknowledged the roles of the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the military, the police, correctional centres, and the Legal Aid Council.
On legal representation, Fagbemi insisted the Legal Aid Council was not the sole provider of defence counsel, noting that private lawyers had also engaged with suspects in detention facilities before trial. The AGF further stressed that discharged suspects must undergo deradicalisation before reintegration.
“There’s no way you can be discharged without going through that recommendation. You must be deradicalised… so that when you get back to society, you will be able to fit in,” he said.
401 FLYING TRAINING SCHOOL: THE STARTING POINT AND CRADLE OF NIGERIAN AIR FORCE FLYING TRAINING
The 401 Flying Training School (401 FTS), Nigerian Air Force (NAF), is the starting point and cradle of flying training in the Service. Established in 1964 as the Light Liaison Transport Squadron, the School has evolved over the decades into a vital institution for nurturing generations of military aviators. Beyond teaching the art of flying, 401 FTS instils a culture of discipline, professionalism, confidence, courage and sound airmanship, laying the foundation for the development of competent and mission-ready pilots. It is where young aviators begin their journey towards mastering the skies, building the skills, judgement and resilience required of military pilots, including the confidence and precision associated with aerobatic and other demanding flying manoeuvres.
Over the years, the School has trained up to 900 pilots for the Nigerian Air Force and Nigerian Navy, while extending its contribution to regional military aviation through the training of 27 pilots from six African countries: Benin Republic, Cape Verde, Niger Republic, Zimbabwe, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Its training responsibilities have expanded from basic and ab-initio flying to include transport, instructor pilot, type-rating and captaincy training, as well as the development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operators. The School has operated different aircraft and platforms to meet evolving training requirements, including the RV-6A Air Beetle, DO-228, DA-40NG, DA-42MPP, Super Mushshak and CW-40 UAV. It has also trained UAV operators and conducted specialised tactical, mission command and instrument courses, reinforcing its role in developing both conventional and unmanned aviation capabilities.
Today, 401 FTS remains central to the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to building a professional, disciplined and operationally effective force. Beyond its training mandate, the School contributes to national security through operational support to Operation FASAN YAMA, Operation HADIN KAI and Operation HADARIN DAJI. Its enduring legacy lies not only in the number of pilots it has produced, but also in the values, confidence, competence and fighting spirit it instils in those who pass through its gates. From the first lessons in the cockpit to the demands of modern air operations, 401 FTS continues to nurture the aviators who will safeguard Nigeria’s airspace and sustain the nation’s air power for generations to come.

@disloman@PoliceNG_CRU Until you show me proof of how the IGP is mishandling the bad eggs caught in the act. It’s on public record that IGP Disu doesn’t support police brutality and extortion; his stance transcends to sanctions meted out to erring personnel. The @PoliceNG_CRU statistics are evident.
Hello @PoliceNG_CRU, also extend the investigation to POS agents conniving with the few bag eggs extorting Nigerians. I trust no-nonsense IGP Disu to do the needful on this matter.
