We are working round the clock to build a Nigeria that works for all where every citizen has access to opportunities, security, and a brighter future. Our results speak, and we are proud to be part of Mr President's agents of good governance.
As we set sail, again, in 2026, we reflect on 2025 as a year of significant reforms where we took bold decisions aimed at strengthening our institutions, improving service, and enhancing the overall well-being of our gallant officers across paramilitary agencies.
Again, on behalf of President @officialABAT Tinubu (GCFR), I personally invite you to join us on this journey with your support and objective criticism as reasonably necessary for growth and development in a democratic system.
It can only get better.
Across the world, access to capital is a major leverage for any individual and business venture. Our government believes that gallant and diligent officers should not be left out of such opportunities.
Yesterday, I received the Managing Director and CEO of NIRSAL Microfinance Bank, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kure who led his team on a courtesy visit to my office.
During our meeting, we discussed how strategic financial inclusion can empower the men and women of the Ministry of Interior towards building sustainable livelihoods, reducing dependency, as well as strengthening institutional integrity.
A partnership with the @NirsalMFB can help us deliver better on the #RenewedHope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), of building a system where our officers are not just secured, but truly empowered.
In 2025 alone, the Kuje Custodial Centre has produced 7 inmate graduates as part of its mandate to provide a conducive environment for learning and rehabilitation.
Till date, it has produced 1 PhD and 6 Master degree holders. Also, 5 other degree holders are due for graduation this year.
The centre has equally produced 45 undergraduates, with 95 inmates currently enrolled for NABTEB, as well as another 95 enrolled for NECO.
It is impressive to see the private sector and the civil society organizations like the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) partner with the government to give a new lease of life to inmates.
@Justolaola@aeonalloy
Our job is to lead from the front, always. Today, alongside the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Afam Josiah Osigwe, SAN, I paid an unscheduled visit to the Kuje Custodial Centre where I related first-hand with officers on duty and inmates at the facility.
At the Ministry of Interior, we are working on partnership opportunities with the NBA, especially in areas of empowering inmates after the completion of their term as well as facilitating Pro Bono litigation service for those awaiting trials.
This way, the Renewed Hope government can further decongest our centres and also prepare inmates for smooth integration into the society to reduce recidivism.
