We are gradually setting a dangerous narrative for the younger generation.
Back in my time, to become head boy, head girl, or any prefect, you are appointed by the school board based on your leadership skills, good standing , responsibility , grades and more.
I passed by a school today in Lagos at Oko Oba, Abuleegba the whole gate was littered with posters & banners from primary/secondary school students campaigning for posts.
Multiple posters and banners of candidates saying Vote me for Head Boy, Vote me for Head Girl, etc
How have we gotten to a level of exposing children to such dangerous political narratives.
Who knows maybe some of them that are from richer families might be sharing biscuit, pencils, birds, maths set in a bid to sway wins.
Distasteful that is being done in a primary and secondary school.
@samify23@sam_adeyemi Again, there's a QUALITY of MIND that builds. A leader with a quality mind won't undermine the value of education.
I'm not trying to pick on you, but if you'll really read in between lines of his narrative, you'd see the meaning of 'quality' and to what he attributed it.
@winexviv If it were in Nigeria, the students will make the lecturer look small for riding a bicycle and parking in same space. The lecturers will in turn see to it that they have a separate place to park their bicycles to prove class structure.
I encourage young people to take on the adventure of marrying "blemished", "wrinkled", and "incomplete" lovers whose lives are clearly far from perfect.
The thrill of marriage isn't doing life with someone who doesn't need to improve.
Rather, it's loving a "diamond in the rough" and getting each other polished until the glory and brilliance of Jesus shine brightly in each other.
Once you're certain that your partner is under the government of Christ and that God has a firm grip on their will, you can be sure that you will enjoy the process of participating in their growth and improvement, and you will experience the satisfaction that comes with being God's agent of pruning and polishing.
This doesn't mean you should marry a spouse whose values and convictions about God, family and life are contrary to yours and hope to change them.
It means you should stop looking for a partner who has everything figured out and instead take up the challenge of being a loving contributor to your spouse's betterment and perfection.
@igeolowo1@Thyzeek@chriisdaviid1 The person said you should read your bible. Kindly follow that advise. Paul asked God for help according to your 'ask' theology, yet God only administered grace and didn't take away the infirmity.
@victormunodinho@thee_ovie You can engage an intellectual discourse without insults. You've really proven who the dumbass is here, especially with your source. Bye.
@victormunodinho@thee_ovie You have only one assignment which you've failed to do. Publish ONE original post to back your claim. If not, there's no point engaging you. Bye.
