"The broader lesson is that privacy improves when safe behavior becomes ambient: when wallets automatically preserve ambiguity, and when ordinary activity itself provides plausible alternative explanations for what appears on-chain."
Bitcoin privacy is not binary. It’s a contest over inference.
In our latest Deep Dive, we studied the transaction graph from both sides: how chain analysts narrow the set of plausible explanations, and how privacy techniques keep more than one alive.

Sad to see nix-bitcoin winding down after 8 years of work. Huge thanks to everyone who built and maintained it, and we’re very grateful that Vinteum was included among the recipients of the remaining security fund.
Hopefully someone from the community will step up, fork it, and keep the project alive. We understand why simply handing maintenance over to someone who hasn’t previously contributed to the repository wouldn’t be the right path. Building that trust and familiarity takes time.
We hope Vinteum can help that process in some way. ❤️

Vinteum Grantee Spotlight: @Erik17192799
He spent the past year maturing @getfloresta into a secure, reliable, and reusable Bitcoin node implementation, while advancing Swift Sync, compact filters, and mobile performance.

What happened to the developers from the first Bitcoin Dev Launchpad cohort?
More than a year later, many are now working full-time on Bitcoin open source, supported by grants or engineering roles across the ecosystem.
A quick look at where they are today 🧵
Loop, Stratum v2, BDK, Floresta, Utreexo, Bitcoinfuzz, Krux, Second, Boltz, Tether, CDK, BTCPay server.
These were all the projects and companies that are benefiting from Vinteum's first Launchpad cohort.
Many more to come.
I've written my first public vulnerability disclosure, detailing a DoS vulnerability I found in Core Lightning.
An attacker can crash a node simply by opening a connection and flooding it with ping messages.

More than a year after our first Bitcoin Dev Launchpad cohort, the paths are clearer.
Alumni are now working across Bitcoin open source through independent grants, full-time engineering roles, and long-term contributions.
Here’s where BDL1 took them ↓

Fully tested @lianabitcoin + @getfloresta + @krux (and other "conceptual multivendor". Worked nicely: (1) built a test setup with @selfcustodykrux camera entropy wallet , seedpicker with my word bags and a liana hot wallet.
🚨Announcement: Krux has a new lead maintainer
We're pleased to announce that Krux has a new lead maintainer @JohnDoe_le_frog
Jean joined Krux years ago, initially as a skeptic. He started with a deep jaw-dropping investigation into Krux's flash storage...
New Floresta roadmap 🌳
What we shipped in Q2, what we’re hardening in Q3, and why the focus is shifting from adding capabilities to making Floresta easier to trust, diagnose, and maintain.

New Krux release.
I took the opportunity to inform that I'll step down as Krux maintainer. And Krux might be gracefully sunset in the following months.
