AG, quick Qs if you could:
• Why would SCOH even mention SCOTUS in this opinion? What is the benefit for the institution and/or the Justices who wrote/joined the opinion?
• Doesn’t the line, take[s] no guidance on the meaning of due process from [the Roberts] court…” suggest that SCOH feels untethered to SCOTUS decisions so long as the latter rules IAW textualist/originalist (i.e., conservative) jurisprudence?
• Do you think this opens the door for other adversarial state Supreme Courts to attack SCOTUS in future rulings using similar reasoning?
@SpookySocialist These are such embarrassingly easy points to counter. It’s just that RK knows that if he offers any forceful counters to Scahill’s nonsense (“invading Lebanon” lol), he loses his base of support and any possible chance he might have of getting to the general election in ‘28.
@FINAL_LEGEND Years of hard work only to be featured prominently in the biggest storyline of the past half-decade, booked to win championships, headline Wrestlemania, and get paid millions of dollars annually.
No, you do not, in fact, “really have to feel for Sami,” stupid.
@NextUpHalperin@MarkHalperin Because he wants to become a historical figure by coming the first black Speaker of the House of Representatives. As long as he achieves that, the rest is immaterial to him.
It’s very simple: this man knows that if his party wins the majority of November that he will be elected the first black Speaker of the House in the history of this country. That instantly makes him a historic figure and will set him up for life as a highly sought after *paid* public speaker and someone who will be mentioned favorably in the school textbooks that American children read from every day. If you look at it through that lens, his capitulation to the extremes of his party makes perfect sense.
• Tired character
• Body like a bus boy
• Afterthought before WM until given a belt at last minute to drop to actual star
• Made champ to satisfy country of religious fundamentalists who worship child molesting warlord
• Hates America (“literally built on oppression”)
• Terror sympathizer (silent about 10/7 but “Free Palestine” until blue in the face)
Plenty of justifiable reasons to feel negative about it without submitting to your childish binary
@RapidResponse47 Not the chemical castration of children or open-border policies or 9/11—it’s *Never Trumpers* that are the worst thing to even happen to the United States. What?!
