frankly inadvisable - a π langston/darling fic
a chance interaction and a few words at the fbc's annual holiday party result in langston finding himself in a compromising position with his head of research.

@XylaTheSilkwing@Alphawave13 i 100% agree!! and i'm also so interested to see how the information around dylan changes/doesn't change now that he's the fbc's secret weapon. that's way more interesting to me than one line from arish being used to paint a guy we've known as kind and loyal as an asshole
i sure hope everyone who is mad at arish for flying off the handle at dylan keeps that energy up for casper "boys will be boys" darling and doesn't just brush his cruelty and negligence under the rug bc they think he's charming π
@XylaTheSilkwing@Alphawave13 absolutely! he's a real everyman BUT he's shown to roll with the paranatural punches pretty well. the outburst really seems like more of an indicator of how deep the fbc propaganda/misinfo about dylan runs rather than a representation of arish. you're right, he IS a cool guy!!
@cherrymnog so real, it's totally valid to be upset but yeah, we as the player know more about dylan than arish does and it's about perspective. cruel words are nothing compared to what the people in power at the fbc did to dylan, and i hope resonant keeps digging into those disconnects!
@cherrymnog control does a really good job at showing how people in power can do a lot of things unchecked, and how the consequences of their choices trickle down to the people who have no power. like i don't blame dylan OR arish, they're both pretty powerless in the grand scheme of things!
@seaelien right? like absolutely he shouldn't be calling dylan inhuman! but he's so unlikely to know the truth about dylan, and he's under this unfathomable stress!! if i'd been at work for seven years and also fighting the horrors that whole time i'd say worse things!!
@seaelien exactly??? like arish is a kind character, i feel like this is supposed to be so much more indicative of the overwhelming stress of this crisis and the narrative that's been spun by the fbc about dylan rather than some deep-seated belief arish holds about him
@Alphawave13 like we have no reason to believe that arish has ever been privy to the truth about dylan (up to and including the scene from the trailer!!). like i really struggle to believe arish would say that shit if he a) wasn't under immense pressure and/or b) actually knew the truth
anyway if you're 18+ you can follow me at my priv @moirawatch if you wanna see me crashing out about the fate of frederick langston and then coping with it by [REDACTED] π
if Simon Arish has a million fans, then i am one of them. if Arish has ten fans, then i am one of them. if Arish has only one fan then that is me. if Arish has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. if the world is against Simon Arish, then I am against the world.
